The place is like "Cheers" for breakfast and lunch. Once you come in the door your part of the community. Al, the cook in the back dishes out fantastic food, un- expected. A must for the Ellicottville experience!
We passed by this a couple of times, and it was on my list of things to do. It was more a spur of the moment as we kept passing it on our way to other things so we had to make a point of stopping quickly to get into the parking lot.My girlfriend and I walked in and there was nobody in the store except the front desk clerk. The antiques are upstairs, and there is a small diner to the right when you walk in. The place was relatively large and we immediately notice a number of unusual items for sale.Top notch service, as we walked in about 20 minutes before closing. She was very nice, and allowed us to explore as her husband was doing some work and they had a buyer upstairs doing some work with the antiques. Even after we had been there for 40 minutes or so browsing around, she practically insisted that we head upstairs to look at some of the antiques. Although we never did get upstairs, the prices seemed reasonable throughout the location. There is a separate dining area, although given the time there was nobody sitting in there. It's primary intention is the antique store upstairs, however the gift shop down stairs had a number of unusual and local items. One novelty but useful gift I picked up was a pair of toaster tongs, something I have never seen in any other shop. This place is a little off the beaten path unless you have travelled to other towns from Ellicottville but would recommend popping in if you can. You only need 1/2 an hour or so, maybe less or more depending on your interest level.
We went on vacation to buffalo NY, and did a day trip her. It's about a 45 min drive. Charming little town with nice restaurants and cute little boutique shops. We loved it!
Cute little store outside of Ellicottville, NY, Lots of antiques and other items like candles, soaps,,jams and jellies, different kitchen gadgets. Good fudge. Had a great omelet for breakfast. I'd go there again. Gifts for children, knick-knacks
This diner, run by Albert, does a great job for breakfast. Went twice this week. I thin they're open from Wednesday to and including Sunday. Excellent ham, french toast, pancakes, coffee. And a reasonable price too.
