Healy's is not a tourist trap. It's a neighborhood bar frequented by Rockaway locals who are an authentically friendly bunch. Show them some respect, and you'll find yourself treated to great storytelling, memories of Rockaway past, and local travel and dining tips if you're from out-of-town. Some of the other local bars in this part of the Rockaway peninsula can be kind of "red-necky" but the folks who frequent Healy's seem to be a bit more open-minded.
