Undoubtedly the foremost arboretum I've visited in the Northeast. It offers a year-round show of the beauty of trees and other perennials. Secret tip I will share with you: I love this place for cross-country skiiing.

The Cornell Plantations are a fauna lovers delight. From the Herb gardens to the demonstations gardens and every thing in between - this is a great experience. Parking is the only cost to the person to view these wonderful gardens.

A truly beautiful experience, lovely gardens with well-labeled plants. Perfect for any season. And there is a very nice gift shop.

We enjoyed a Christmas Day walk in the Plantations. It was officially closed (locked gates), but we joined a few others who parked along the road and walked in. It was beautiful, with the water, dried grasses, tree branches and bark all taking center stage. It's true that one can appreciate the 'bones ' of a garden in winter, and the Plantations have beautiful 'bones'!

It was a bit expensive but a super delicious pie. Will be purchasing more next visit to Cornell. Also enjoy the "taste an apple" and give a review. Always fun

Hi, thanks for you kind remarks. You were at the Cornell Orchards, and not Cornell Plantations. We sadly don't sell apples! (I wish we did!)Next time you visit the Orchards, be sure to come down the road and visit the Arboretum and Botanical Gardens.Best,Billy K.

Beautiful flowers and plants, worth the visit. There are extensive grounds with flowers, plants, trees, sculpture, ponds, wild life. The gift shop has maps and also some nice gift items. We were driving from Seneca Lake to NYC and this was very worth the detour.

Even on a rainy day the gardens were beautiful. Everything is labelled, the medicinal herbs have information that explains the use of the plant. We were really blown away by how beautiful and well kept the gardens were, every plant was so bountiful. Amazing variety. We loved walking around the various gardens. The visitor center in the gift shop is a very useful stop. We also went to the arboretum and walked around the trails. Loved the sculpture garden built by the architecture class of '61/'62. You could spend a lot of time walking on the easy trails and sitting on the benches to take in the view. I highly recommend a visit to the plantations if you are in the area.

It's not a huge garden, but it has a good variety of plants and is worth a walk around if you are already in the area.

Some lovely gardens and walking trails nearby, all really well looked after - well worth a visit! We enjoyed a walk around the beautiful gardens, then took to the gorge/river trails which are very close by.

We were amazed by how well kept and lovely this place was. I was impressed by all of the herbs and the tidbits of information to be had.

Cornell University has spectacular gardens free to the public. In Spring the Rhododendron Bushes are amazing! In the summer we just love the rock gardens&aromatic gardens! It is a great little walk after dinner!

We had a guided tour of the plantations. The foliage was beautiful and i really liked the winter garden, shade garden, etc. We did not visit the arboretum but instead walked on a pathway by the river's edge--which was beautiful and passed the gorges and magnificent waterfalls.

As with all things Cornell, the Plantations were amazing! They have every type of plant imaginable (probably not, but they still have LOTS of species). Nearly every plant has an identification tag, but they're a little hard to read. The beds are nicely laid out and beautiful. Staff are very willing to help. Overall, the Plantations are beautiful and have a lot to offer, especially if you like gardening. The herb garden is a particularly nice spot. Also be sure to venture into the Cornell campus to check out the Poisonous Plants Garden, behind some hedges next to the College of Veterinary Medicine. Make sure you get a map of the Plantations so you can find your way around.

A must see!! There are even tours, an hr long, every day at noon. Flowers and gardens galore. Laid out to perfection. Great gift shop plus nice area outside to sit and enjoy an ice cream or cool drink.
