A place to meditate while walking through this peaceful Serenity. I go here several times through the years and I always find myself at peace here.
The ride through the property was lovely. The leaves were in full color. Spent an hour in the thrift shop which was three stories. Would definitely go back.
Feel the love....it surrounds this place. Visit the nuns in the shop as well. They are lovely and so are their offerings.
Walking around the grounds just brings a inner peace to ones self, it is hard to put into words, it needs to be experienced to be understood and it does not matter what religious beliefs one has or has not.
Graymoor is an outstanding location to visit for a day, participate in a retreat, or just drop by for a few moments meditation. It is a healing atmosphere that welcomes all comers.
I live near here and visit often. I donate to their thrift shop whenever I can - "that nothing be lost." There is so much to see, the statuaries are gorgeous! The book store at the top of the hill hold many things spiritual and dealing with all kinds of recovery, the thrift shop hold 4 floors of treasures and the Sisters Gift Shop is a great resource for all kinds of gifts and cards - my first stop for christenings, communions, confirmations, blessings of all kinds!
If you feel like you need a little TLC visit Graymoor, "The Holy Mountain". Give yourself some special time to connect with nature and your inner peace, you will walk away with peace and a new out look on your life, treat yourself .... it is worth the visit!
The Friars at Graymoor will welcome you and the bookstore is most interesting. I attended the Mass at Pilgram Hall and also went to the St. Anthony Shrine. On site is a Memorial of the World Trade Center Tragedy and a list of firemen killed at the site to honor their braveness. The St. Jude Garden is where that is located. Graymoor also has a clinic with residence for Alcoholic Treatment and many retreats listed throughout the year with many special topics to meditate on. This place sits atop of a mountain with views of the entire tri=state area of New York,New Jersey and Connecticut.
A place dedicated to love, devotion, and service. A breathe of fresh air and spiritual support. They have a nice gift shop and second shop too. In the summer their client sell organic veggies down by the roadside too.Mostly it's a quiet spot to walk and enjoy some time to your self and your thoughts.
it is just the most beautiful place to be in and just to sit and think, say a prayer and just be with your thoughts, people are very plesant also.
We went to see creches from around the world, and were surprised to see almost all of them on the windowsills on the 5th floor of the building. The Charlie Brown Christmas Play creche was worth the visit. There is also a Catholic bookstore (4th floor) with a good supply of greeting cards, books, and religious articles. The thrift shop was well stocked with furniture, dinnerware, clothing, etc. and is in a separate building. All profits support St. Christopher's Inn.
