westcott beach state park

We love Westcott's Beach State Park! At times it's hard to get a site, but we always manage to get the perfect spot! This year we'll be camping on the water in June, but in the past, we like site 108, near the boat launch. We try to stick to the same sites to be near the water, but regardless of where you camp there, you are never too far from anything. There is a great playground there for kids and the life guards are really great! Always someone you know there and even if you are from afar, you'll meet great people! Held a family picnic at Wescott's Beach. Did not know we could reserve a covered area, but the day was beautiful, so did not need to be under cover. Have been there in years and was delighted to find it so clean and kept up. Playgrounds up to date with very good impact material. Beach was well groomed and the life guards very vigilant. We will hold family picnics there from now on.

Had a fantastic experience at Westcott and now plan to camp there after a terrible experience at Association Island. The staff were so helpful and friendly. The beach was super clean AND most important to me......no seaweed in the swimming area. I can't wait to go back! Thank you!!

We went in May, 2014. It was great having our own little tiny private beach but there is also a separate beach for those campers who do not have sites located on the beach. The sand is not like Florida sand, ie, not groomed and perfect but it's nice to have it right outside your door all day long! The park police did show their presence which was nice to know. We also stayed here last year in the interior part of the park and it was also just as nice, quiet (no wind) and nice families playing at the volleyball court or on the jungle gym. The bathrooms are kept tidy and stocked. There is a little store directly outside the park for emergency needs (walking distance) but Sackets Harbor is not that far away, either.

I have been coming here for 15 years. This is a beautiful park with an amazing beach. The staff are great here. I stayed at Fairhaven Beach last week and was extremely disappointed. Don't go there come to Westcott beach.

We took a drive through the camping area of Westcott while we were camping at Southwick Beach State Park. I was really surprised how small the site were and how everyone is on top of each other. So it's not to wonder why there were not a lot of campers there. There were a few but I'm sure it testing the owner's maneuvering skills I'm sure the sites go fast but there were a few that were right along the water and you had your own little beach. You could get a jet ski up there too. That would be the only way I would be willing to camp there.

This park is incredible. We went for the day with the kids. It was only $8 and the beach was spotless. The life guards take pride in the beach and follow all safety guidelines. The kids had a blast and the water is extremely shallow (4 feet is the most, but mainly 2 to 3 feet deep). We packed a picnic lunch and the kids just played. We highly recommend this beach.
