this "inverted truss" sounds like a physical condition, but actually it's a nearly unique span with the girders underneath, supposedly to make it difficult for ships to pass, but even the titanic would have gotten under this without tipping its hat... in the fall, a fine, fine beauty spot although I believe trains no longer use this... the line from the east (medina) comes up short, as does the line from the west, Niagara falls' suspension bridge line...

There are some funny stories told about this bridge but it appears that this was a common way to build railroad bridges across valleys when there would be no danger of flooding to damage it. This bridge was built in 1902.
