gratwick waterfront park

This park is located along the Niagara River along River Rd in North Tonawanda. I grew up here so spent many an hour sitting on the bank. It is in stark contrast to Isle View Park not far away in Tonawanda where summer brings lots of people walking, jogging, skating, biking, etc. and patronizing it's restaurants. Gratwick is more peaceful though does attract boaters with it's boat launch. Many a summer day will provide the perfect place for kite flying. To me it's nice just to sit and watch the water swiftly flowing towards the Falls, a perfect place to contemplate the little things in life.

The views along the Niagara River causes you to want to live along its banks.It is close to the Erie Canal..within walking distance.

here's a marvelous little -- well, maybe medium-sized -- park with a great view of the bend in the Niagara river, a few picnic tables, et al, but mostly grassy area... in any sort of three-season breeze you'll find kite-aholics brightening the sky and, if you're lucky, one of the six-a-day Amtraks may roll behind you, putting it all in perspective

Outdoor concerts, boat racing, kite flying, boat launching and watching, fishing, biking, model rocket launching, dog walking, biking, walking, next to the Niagara River, lots of room to roam, it's a nice spot to stop and grab some fresh air, collect your thoughts or let them drift.

Gratwick is a 53 acre park along the Niagara River. It contains a boat launch (fee),picnic tables, a pavilion, playground, soccer fields, and a handicap accessible fishing dock. There are no tall trees so you will often find incredible kites being flown there. Along the river you will find the beginning of a hiking/biking trail. It is a pleasant park and is the venue for concerts and boat races. (No rest rooms, yet, only Johnny-on-the-Spot type facilities)
