Had a great time with the whole family here. Rent it for the day to get the best value! We had children from the age of one year to 11 years and adults of all ages. Great meeting space also, and they allow you to bring your own food for lunch or a party. A great ADK landmark.

The carousel is a work of art. The paintings, carousel animals, and room are very well done. The space is great and there is an excellent play area outside that my son enjoys as much as the carousel rides.

Beautiful carousel with carved animals - animals that are common in the Adirondacks. They are beautifully done, the artwork at the top is beautiful and we took my husband's aunt there this summer and she was in awe of it. There's a place for all riders - atop a bear or deer or even our infamous black fly. There's a boat with seat for and some other benches for those who just want to enjoy the ride. The staff is great, helpful, the building is beautiful and there is a playground in the part in which it is located. I highly recommend a visit here even if just to see the various animals. There is a fee for riding, but just to enjoy watching is free!

Very affordable family fun. The Carousel ride, games, costumes and entertainment can occupy a family for much longer than just the length of the ride. Plus just enough snacks to satisfy. Great staff. They could be tour guided for the tri-lakes.

It was raining when we were out leaf peeping in the Adirondacks so we decided to find some inside entertainment. We had taken a brochure for the Adirondack Carousel and thought it would be fun to go there. It is not your usual carousel. Every animal has been hand carved and they all have a name and have a lady bug on them. It's kind of a game to find the lady bug. All sorts or artists from around the country have carved the different animals. We bought 3 rides and on the first ride I rode a fish and my husband road a toad and on my second ride I rode a beaver. It's a must see while in Saranac Lake, NY. I would definitely make this a part of my trip if I'm in the area again.

I was in a bad mood and by myself and I saw the carousel, which I have wanted to visit on other trips to SL. By luck I got on the last ride of the day, and rode Moonbeam the bobcat on a nostalgic trip round and round. It buoyed up my mood as I looked at all the interesting animals instead of horses and listened to the old-timey music. Fun!

Really cute old time carousel. Not much there, a corner lot. Little parking. Worth stopping into see.

Worth the stop. The carousel is not horses but all local animals painted by local artists...beautiful!!! Take the kids or just stop by to admire the beautiful painted creatures.

We read about this online and thought it would be a fun time to see it. What a gem! The attendant was informative, funny and so personable to the four of us as well as all the riders. The gentleman was a retired salesman and he loved being the attendant. Very unique carousel. A must see if your in the area. And for $2.00 a ride, well worth the experience or just stop by to see it.

This is a beautiful carousel with very unique animals found in the Adirondacks. there are no seat belts but that is fine for most. i believe there is a lower age limit although small children could ride on the boat which just has a bench seat. It looked like it was also handicapped accessible with a ramp up to the carousel and a large space in the boat. It is beautiful and worth a visit just to see the artwork.

Amazing carousel with specially made animals figures that are North Country appropriate...Moose, Beaver and even a BlackFly! Nice restrooms, and really great playthings for preschoolers including dress up outfits, lots of crayons, colored pencils and loads of paper available too!

Even though it's a little more than that ($2.50 for a ride, I think). But this gem represents community at its best: totally a volunteer effort drawing on local artistic and philanthropic contributions of time, talent, and treasure; foresight in city planning to create a wonder in an otherwise off-the-track (literally) city park; the sheer delight of riding a working carousel that does nothing more than go around and up and down, and that smoothly; locally provided art and carvings of fanciful animals to ride on, reasonable cost and quick joy. Young at heart and young in mind will all enjoy this wonderful attraction.

True craftsmanship in these handcarved animals. A long time in coming but so worth all the time and hard work creating this machine.Once around is never enough as it is fun for both children and adults. Well worth the visit and the staff is wonderful. Plan a birthday party there for the kids.

As a person who saw the process of this treasure of this wonderful town I was thrilled to see the finished product. It is absolutely lovely and wonderful to watch, also to ride. The creatures that make up this carousel are of the Adirondacks and are so beautifully constructed, the colors and forms are truly a wonder of nostalgia for adults and children alike.

We stopped here for a quick visit while in Saranac Lake. Having grown up in Broome County NY where carousels were donated by the Endicott Johnson Shoe factory to the various towns in the area, I have a special fondness of the rides. Although this was much smaller than a "classic" Merry-Go-Round, the carvings were perfect for the location. The small playground would also delight young children and provide a quick, and inexpensive way to expend some pent up energy of young travelers. Well done Saranac Lake!
