This mountain is a great hike for a family looking for a relatively easy mountain with amazing views. The trail starts of at an incline, and at then becomes uphill with lots of rocks. There are level spots every so often to get your breath. There are some good views on the way up, but the top has 360 views, especially from the fire tower. If you're lucky, there will be an interpreter on the mountain to tell you all about the fire tower. There is a neat rock that looks like you could push it off the mountain, this is great for photo ops. Overall, this 2 mile round trip mountain is worth the drive and the hike. I hope you get a chance to do it!

I hiked this mountain with my family as a child, and 15 years later, I still love it! It's a great beginner hike if you're willing to take your time. It's about 2 miles round-trip, but almost completely uphill in rocks and mud. But, it's worth it all at the top, with a 360-degree view from atop the rocks and the newly restored fire tower! No bathrooms, except for the outhouse (NOT port-a-potty) if you're in serious need, at the parking area. There's a restaurant nearby if you'd prefer to go there. Bring water and snacks for the top, and a good camera!
