skana, the spa at turning stone

Once again, my husband and I had a great experience at Skana. We arrive early and use the hot tub and other areas before our massage. Everyone was quite professional, even though the receptionist didn't check to make sure we had been taken downstairs and I had to ask why we had been waiting 15 minutes to be taken down to the spa area. She looked at the computer and said, "Oops". I would really love to see Skana offer some different types of massage. Pressure point, deep tissue or Thai massage. Current offerings are good, but they all are a very light massage. I would visit more often if they had more offerings.

This was our anniversary weekend and our 1 of many visits to Skana. I always say this isn't a Spa, But an experience. Starting with the Suana's and Hot tub followed by the mineral Pool before Messages Skana never disappoints. I have read many reviews and I have to say that when you book a Message make sure to let them know what type of Message you prefer. They will not give you a hard deep tissue Message unless you request that Type. I also highly recommend the Get Away Package and make a weekend out of it At the Lodge. We do it at least 4 times a year and enjoy our stay every time

My best friend/MOH treated me to a trip to Skana Spa. I was beyond elated. I am 11 weeks pregnant so I signed up for the prenatal retreat. The spa is gorgeous and all the amenities sets it apart. My treatment began with a gentle scrub - wonderful, it was very soothing. But I LIVE for massages. My therapist was nice and professional but once the massage started there was no pressure. Please understand me, you can not have too much pressure while pregnant so I was not expecting a deep tissue. I'm a licensed Esthetician and work in a Spa so I'm aware of the amount of pressure that should be done. HOWEVER, it IS suppose to be Swedish style pressure and communication from the therapist on how the pressure feels. She basically repeatedly rubbed me down with lotion and she called me in a few mins late and ended before my friend that was called in before me. So really it was about 40mins. When I asked the front desk how much pressure was typical they were very short with me in response to my question stating there can't be too much. I agreed but stated there should still be SOME pressure it's a massage after all. They said "sorry" with attitude but didn't really care and left it at that. I didn't make a big deal about it as to not insult my friend or ruin our trip but this was EXTREMELY disappointing for the reputation and atmosphere.

I had multiple treatments here, starting with a massage and after a facial and a mani/pedi. Every service was great and all of the staff was very nice. The spa was quite relaxing and very pretty.

My mother, sister and I have come here for the past 3 years for a spa birthday. Neesie always greets us with a smile and is more than accommodating. We look forward to coming each year and she makes us feel like family. This spa is a gem and so is she:) My only complaint is with the staff at wildflowers. For three years in a row we have had grumpy/rude servers and this year was no different. For such a great restaurant you'd think they would take more care to hire staff that actually enjoy their job. We had an older woman with short blonde hair and she was less than pleased to be serving us and made that very obvious. Love the spa but the restaurant attitude really puts a damper on a beautiful day

wonderful massage, staff was great considering we were running about 5 minutes late due to border traffic delay - got us in immediately.

Great facilities. Nice hot tub with massaging jets, sauna and steam room. Good service in the locker room. Very good sports massage. Overall a fun experience that helped us keep up with next days golf.

Love the spa. It was my first experience it this type of spa. I went about 45 minutes early to use the mineral pool and amenities, but wish I had gone 2 hours early! The minieral pool and hot tub were lovely. The relaxation room was calming. I really found all the little amenities to be the most surprising...tea, water, hair drying stations with moose, curing irons and flat irons. A bathing suit dryer, toothbrushes etc. I felt so pampered. It was more than worth the price :)

Went to the spa for a 50 minute massage... decent but nothing special. a little pricy for the area and they automatically add 18% gratitutity.....

We had the most amazing morning at Skana. I only wish we had more time that day. If you purchase at least a 50 min treatment you can use the steam/sauna/whirlpool all day as you like. I had the hot towel sage massage.AMAZING My daughter received a peel and the BFF a pedicure. All of us were putty after and the tea/fruit water very refreshing. The staff was exceptional. So kind and bent over backwards to make us comfortable. The only co ed part of the spa is the Mineral Pool which has jets too. The showers have the most wonderful supplies. I will definitely be going back.

Visited this spa with my bridal party the day after my bachelorette party to relax. It was price but well worth it as we all enjoyed our services. Everything was quiet, clean, and relaxing. I had a facial where they also massaged my head/feet and my bridesmaids had massages that they both raved about. I can't wait to return!

Staff very good, Massage was good not great, couldn't share sauna or hot tub with my wife because in men's & ladies locker rooms.

I've visited skana several times, both with my husband and my mom and sister. It is the best and most relaxing place. The atmosphere is gorgeous and the attendants very doting. I visit at least twice a year and love every minute!!!

I have been to spas all over (Aruba, Hawaii, West Palm, etc...) Skana blows them all away! The staff is amazing and very professional, the atmosphere is absolutely the most welcoming and peaceful environment. The music, lounge areas, showers, bathrooms are all top notch, very beautiful and luxurious. I consider myself very lucky to live nearby so I can visit a few times per year. It is the only spa I have been to that feels like you detach from the outside world for the time you are in there.

I had a detox facial procedure done at this fantastic spa. After and hour or so of pampering and massages, I was ready to have a night on the town with my husband and that is just what we did. I would recommend this to all of my friend.
