Salmon Run Mall is an okay mall for us Canadians wanting to do some quick cross-border shopping, but doesn't have anywhere near the selection of other malls further south on I-81 (such as Destiny in Syracuse). However, it does have Sears and JC Penney, as well as a few of my son's favorite stores (Dick's, Zumiez, PacSun and Foot Locker) and some restaurants. The mall is easily accessible from I-81 (exits 45 or 46) and is surrounded by a number of restaurants.
Lots of interesting stores and good food to be had...Good movies at Regal Theaters and variety food in food court, anchor stores you would expect and a good number of off brand stores....
Good movies at Regal Theaters and variety food in food court and brand stores and smaller scale stores
We love this mall mainly because it has most of the things any Canadian shopper wants: JC Penney and Burlington Coat Factory. The mall is efficient and never crowded which makes shopping with a child enjoyable. The toilets are clean and there's lots of space for kids to run around!
I mean, really, I no longer expect our Canadian dollars to be accepted at par anywhere in the States, because of the exchange rate. However, when I shopped at the Radio Shack store in this mall last month, the store manager refused to accept my currency. No Canadian money even with my paying for exchange. As I was on my way home to Ontario from Syracuse, I had no US funds left. I was quite put out at this: only the third time this has happened in 50 years of travelling in the States. Both previous times were in the Southern states, over 20 years ago. I had to use my MasterCard for a $10.00 purchase. I wrote emails to Salmon Run Mall management office, no reply. I wrote to Radio Shack head office, and received an unhelpful reply.I will be avoiding this mall for a while.
from the road this mall doesn't look like much but inside it's big and warm with more shopping than would seem from the outside. A great place to go for the day even has a theater and of course a food court
The mall has many stores, but is much smaller than most malls I've visited. With the other stores in the area, the mall is pretty decent.
We love this Mall - it has so many different stores & all shop keepers are so very friendly & very helpful. Plus the prices are exceptional!
We had never been to a Gander Mountain so we went in before the rains hit little did we know that it was actually attached to the mall. It wasn't huge but it was a very nice clean and it was nice to see the pet store since we were missing our babies at home.
This mall has plenty of stores that aren't available in Canada so this is why we went. Dick's, Gander Mountain, Burlington Coat Factory and JC Penny saw a majority of our time while we were there.
Probably because of the Canadian border up rt 81 30 miles, but considering the size of Watertown it is a pretty good mall. Everything you would expect and not the additional duplication of stores you don't need in super malls. It has outdoors, pets, electronics, Dick's Sporting Goods, Verizon, and plenty of clothes and jewelry. Good food court and real nice theater. We are lucky to have it.
Took a drive to see Watertown and ended up at the mall. I was surprised by the number of big name stores there. The layout is decent. I managed to get some really good bargains at the stores. The food court was clean and the workers were courteous. Will definitely visit again!
looking for shoes, etc. We found some at Zumies and even got a BOGO half-off deal. Staff was quite helpful.
Was surprised how many stores were in this mall. The Christmas Store was a big surprise as there were no Christmas items but anything you would want for setting up a house. We were there looking for wedding gifts and the bride to be found shower curtains, dishes, toiletries, towels, etc. this store had everything . There is a movie theatre, food court, all the brand name stores and plenty of parking!
