Tour guide Ike Ilkew has a the knowledge of the retired cop he is and the quirkily, humorous personality of a “real” New Yorker. This a 2-1/2 hour walking tour flew by with stops in Little Italy, Chinatown and downtown Manhattan. I never knew Weegee was the pseudonym of Arthur Fellig, a documentary photographer who lived near the old police station and was, therefore, on the scene before any other media. Ilkew, in addition to showing the group the locations of famous murders, mafia “rubouts” and film locations, has a handy book of old photos to put his stories in perspective. Highly recommended.

what a wonderful day we had with Ike, many thanks for your hospitality, just returned from our holiday in NYC and Toronto, Ike was soooo helpful, and told us many things we didn't know and new York, and taking us to places, that we would not have seen on an open bus tour,and relating to his life in nyc, we started the tour at 8.30. and didn't return till 6.30 and had lunch in Little Italy, toured all the usual places, many thanks again for a wonderful day

Ike is the best. I am a born and raised New Yorker. He brought us to places I never even knew existed. His knowledge was infinite about our city..its criminals, locations, stories, etc. He also knew great little facts about other places that we passed. Truly one of the best tours I've ever taken in my life. Keep in mind I'm a history teacher..and his knowledge of New York City History was amazing. I would give him a 100 stars if possible.
