This is a beautiful beach for relaxing. The view up Lake George is stunning, especially if you make sure to arrive at the beach promptly at 10am and beat the rush. The water doesn't get very deep, but it's a nice place for sunbathing and wading. The facilities have dressing stalls, showers, and ample restroom space. Cleanliness is usually on the high side of average. It seems to depend on the lifeguards of the day, but sometimes they restrict beachgoers to certain sections of sand and sometimes they don't. Sections of the water are always opened up (or closed) according to demand and according to lifeguard availability. Throwing objects is strictly not allowed in the water (which has always seemed silly to me), but so far playing catch, frisbee, or volleyball does seem to be allowed on the sand, as long as you (or your kids) aren't being jerks with it.Coolers are allowed but glass and alcohol are not. We've always picnicked, but there is a snack stand on site. Pop-ups and lawn chairs also allowed.Parking can be a pain in Lake George. If you decide to park on the street, make sure you use your eyes and double check thoroughly that you're not in a no parking zone or a timed parking zone. Parking at the beach parking lot is $10 for the full day but if you decide to park here and walk downtown, be aware that it's a serious hike.
It is one of the cleanest lakes in the entire us. The water is so clean and refreshing. There is nothing like jumping the water. It makes you feel so young again! I miss living there!
The indoor public pavilion is a nice place to escape weather, and the views outside of Lake George are magnificent.
The states most beautiful beach is undergoing extensive renovations to include a new year round launch site and expanded parking.
The 10$ parking sucked, it was pretty crowded, and they blocked off areas where you can't swim which sucked too. However it was extremely clean, no one was crazy, lifeguards did their job well.
Now under construction the new beach will feature two free launch sites, boat wash stations and expanded bathing facilities. Great location at the South end of the lake.
We had not been to this beach before , we didn't know what we were missing! Lots of space and great views. What a perfect place to spend the day!
I visited Million Dollar Beach in August and it was crowded. The parking was $10 which is across the street and you may enter the beach for free. They have clean bathrooms, nice changing rooms and shower cabins. You may also rent a locker. The beach had only one lifeguard and the only place you were allowed to swim was in designated area full of kids and no place to swim or just enjoy the water. There were plenty other lifeguard stations but empty! I would not return to Million Follar Beach next summer unless they hire more lifeguards or at least allow us swim at our own risk.
There's a fee to enter but plenty of parking and the beach is kept clean. Gorgeous views and cool water make it an ideal way to spend the day. It's also close to the village.
This is true: easy parking, one fee 10$, but the beach was very small and I did not like the sand. There's washrooms and a restaurant. It's an old spot from another era, but seems to be great for families with young children. I took a walk around to the "city" and people are swimming outside the "legal" beach, at the park. This spot was better with a lot of room and picnic tables. If I ever come again to that region, I will definitely go to the park instead.
Beautiful quiet beach. The beach was clean , and family oriented. The kids enjoyed swimming in the lake, lifeguards are on duty till 630pm.There's a snack shop, and small board walk. The beach has bathroom , and shower facilities, and they were very clean. We had a memorable day.
Clean safe beach for families. Crowded during the summer. Fireworks Wednesday evening. Parking $10 but can take trolley for $1.
clean, relaxing day at the beach......it's free.....snack bar is nice & not expensive. You can bring chairs, coolers, music, but no alcoholic beverages
This is a small beach conveniently located in the Village. Easy to get to. Free if you walk in. Had facilities where you can shower, and a small snack bar. The kids had a very good time and we felt safe letting them have a little freedom because the water was shallow and we were able to see them at all times.
Went on a weekday, very crowded. Free admission if walking in and not parking in the lot. Swimming area very shallow for adults. Ok for kids. Don't take any beach type toys masks etc. these are not allowed although my little one did get away with her swim mask. The sand is very harsh and dirt like. After sitting on towel wet, the underside of the towel looked like mud. Water is clear and the beach provides a good side view of the village and the tour boats leaving the docks. Maybe I am spoiled on ocean beaches but this was just ok.
