Our trip to Citi Field was a brilliant way to take some time out during a 6 day sightseeing trip in NYC. Its a great day out for all with a laid back and casual atmosphere, By far, my favourite part of our holiday!Citi Field was really easy to get to via the subway system from our hotel in midtown. We found our seats very easily and had a great view of the game. The food stalls (hotdogs and GIANT ice tea)!! and shops within the ground are great and we came back with loads of goodies for our friends and family in the UK.The game itself was full of fun with music playing, interaction with the crowd and the BIG APPLE appearing when there was a home run! Little tip for a great photo: set your camera to a panoramic setting and pan across the stadium. You'll get a great view of the whole stadium and crowd.
A beautiful entrance way, as entering the rotunda makes you feel like you're entering one of the old-time ballparks I remember from the 1950's and '60's. The Mets Hall of Fame is cute. Views of the playing field are pretty clear from the sets, but not from the walkway areas. Lines are long at the concession stands and bathrooms, but what can you do? Let's hope the Mets can finally play this year at a level that can match the quality of their park.
Caveat: I am NOT a Mets fan and believe I have only rooted for them twice...the '69 Miracle Mets (forgive me, I was only a tween) and the '86 Mets because they beat the Sox. Back in the early 80's my wife and I attended a game at Shea to see them play the Dodgers (her team at the time) and it was a horrible experience. Citi Field however was a pleasant experience. Last day of the season, beautiful fall day, with family, good game (or as good as it gets Mets vs. Astros), nice view from our seats (upper deck along 3rd base line) and the very best part was receiving a Bobblehead of Casey Stengel (I met him at the Tunnicliff in Cooperstown in the mid-60's). The bad parts: not all the food vendors were open which I can forgive since it was the last day of the season and the worst was PARKING. Wound up parking in a rutted dirt lot where a number of others were parked. I have no idea if this was official parking or not as signage in and around the stadium was terrible. Oh well...Yankee stadium here I come.
I go to many baseball games although for the most part I am a Yankee fan I really enjoy Mets games also...but when it comes to the stadium itself I feel that citi field is a much better stadium...It's more fan friendly , it has a lot more open feel that is a great view no matter where you are...it has a lot to do for kids...parking is so much easier here than it is at Yankee Stadium...and value you cannot beat the value that you get here for your money...and one good thing about Met games , you always get an amazing game a nailbiter so to speak it winning a losing it when you're losing it's always a high charged game
I've been to a number of ballparks across the country. Citi Field is definitely one of the best. Walking from the parking lot to the park, I was taken by the fun welcoming atmosphere. The main 'lobby' is certainly unique and keeps the crowd moving along nicely. The park is quaint, our seats were great and the Mets won!
I am a baseball fan. I have been to more than 12 major league baseball parks and almost the same if not more minor-league parks. While they each have their charm and atmosphere Citi Field rises above as one of the best. We had great seats in the lower third base section. It was floppy sun hat day so we got a free Mets hat. With our seats we got free access to the Caesar's club. It is a great place to go before the game for dinner or drinks. We were able to watch the World Cup game and have a great dinner. There is a lot of selection of food. Try the salads that they make right in front of you. They are great value and very tasty. The beer selection inside the park was great. There were many choices and coupled with good weather and a Nathan's hotdog made for a great time. Getting to the game as easy using the subway.
Citi field provides a great view of a baseball game from any angle at any level. The entrance gates do not have long lines. Food is pricey,
The food was average baseball game fair The Mets at least didn't make me throw up from watching their play on the field
For $110 a ticket at a group rate we sat right on the left field wall and the tickets includes unlimited beer and food which I thought was a great deal. It's too bad the Mets stink but the stadium is beautiful. Would definitely recommend sitting here.
I love this ballpark for the obvious reason...the home of the NY Mets! :) Besides, me being a Mets fan, this is a very nice and beautiful ballpark. The seats are comfortable and the bathrooms are surprisingly clean for a sports facility. The entrance of the stadium, The Jackie Robinson Rotunda is beautifully designed and crafted. However, what is ironic is that Jackie Robinson never donned a Mets uniform. I love and hate the way this modern day Ebbets Field is constructed. I love it that you can get a good view of the game from any seat, even the high up nosebleeds. The bad thing is that it is constructed in such a way that the wind blows TOWARDS home plate rather than away from it. It causes out Metsies to hit less home runs and our players' homerun totals diminish. I like the fact that they are trying to move the fences in to make it a level playing field for both pitchers AND hitters. I am even pleased that they offer Shake Shack, the best burger, fries and handspun milkshakes you can ever consume. However, I wish that they had a system to alleviate the long queue and we don't wind up missing two innings for waiting to place our order.I also wish they had some discounts and price breaks on their ridiculously priced concessions. I pay almost $20 for a meal! smdhI also wish they had MORE stuff for kids to do besides the dunk tank, miniature playing field and occasional meet and greets with Mr. & Mrs. Met. The Citi Field experience can be so much better if they actually start having
You don't need a premium seat to enjoy the stadium. People are gree tp roam around and if you think you're missing the game there's a big screen everywhere in the premise. Just make sure to spend lots to have a good time.
Although the nostalgia of Shea Stadium still lingers and will for a long long time, Citi Field is nothing short of gorgeous. Great views, excellent clubs and the ability to stand and watch on the field level! An experience you will enjoy!
GREAT atmosphere and awesome venue. Everything from bathrooms to seating and everything in between was clean. Ofcourse very very pricey but what do you expect...arent they all.
Citi Field was a great improvement when compared to Shea Stadium. Avery fan freindly stadium. Good food, great sightlines. In the lower levels you cannot sit behind home plate in the cheaper sections. But there are great restaurants and cafeteria style spots behind home plate. You walk into the sections from the rear rather through tunnels so you have a view of the field from all around. Parking can get expensive.
Not necessarily all the perks of some of the newer stadiums but still enjoyable experience and fun for the whole family
