Please note that this review is based on enjoyable visits to Saratoga Race Course with family quite a few years ago. My information is not current. Still, it was wonderful and I am sure still is. The area has a park like feel to it. Lots of comfortable outdoor areas for sitting in the shade and enjoying the races. Visitors are able to get a close up view of the horses when they are getting ready. Plenty of places to get a bite to eat, shop, or have a beverage. Or, you can bring your own picnic and chairs. Enjoyed visiting here a few times with family and would recommend it.
Run the other way with your money, or just throw it out the window before you get there! This place has the worse payoffs, even the employees complain. Waitress on the floor act like they don't want to be there, look bored, IF you can even find one. Sorry, this place just doesn't cut it.
bring money expect to spend, lot to park fills up quick so expect to spend $ 25 or so for parking lots of crowds of people all walks of life very hot so dress for it, any nice hotel expect to pay 250 or more a night, had a great time at the races but didn't win, god willing hope to make anther trip up there in 2015, nice clean town with nice people
Racing fans, there is nowhere in the States like this race course. It has everything from great racing to excellent food. There is entertainment, shopping (artist originals to tee-shirt shops), as well as picnic areas. if you are fortunate enough to have access to the backstretch, you enter another world available to racings elites. The folks here are friendly, and everyone enjoys watching the morning workouts, while sipping coffee and talking with racing fans and friends.
If you ever visit Saratoga try to come at least one or two days during the six and one half week thoroughbred race meet. It is Saratoga and all it offers at its finest.
Going to the races at Saratoga is a must experience if you've never been there! This track is one of the oldest in North America and quite prestigious for the east coast crowd, especially if you have an in. You can dress up or dress down whichever you please, depending on where you want to hang out for the day!
Steeped in years of history and traditions, the Saratoga Race Course is a must see during the summer racing season.
Whether you are in the box seats in fancy attire watching your horses at the finish line or among the hoi polloi in the back yard watching the race on TV monitors nad drinking the beer and eating the food you brought in and watching the kids play in the playgrounds, the Saratoga Race Course is always a great experience.
I've always lived within a few miles of the track and while I'm not a gambler I have to say that this venue is one that shouldn't be missed if you're traveling nearby in the mid-late summer.I'd encourage you to visit for breakfast, a most beautiful and relatively quiet time when the horses are working out on the main track. You can take tours and learn the history of this facility, it makes for an interesting morning. If you'd like, take a walk across Union Ave onto East Avenue (just ask one of the security guards, they're very friendly) and view the Oklahoma Training Track which gives you a different perspective from what you'll see from the clubhouse when looking at the main track. Don't forget the National Museum of Racing on Union Avenue across from the tracks main gate. Everything I've mentioned here is within about 1000' radius so walking should not be an issue. It's a beautiful place, best appreciated when your mind isn't on the gambling so come early and stay late.
The people watching is the prime event for this classic summer hotspot. It's hard to imagine a better day than lounging around the "backyard" at the racetrack, losing a few bucks and making memories with friends. The track offers a variety of experiences depending on your interests and how much money you want to spend, which is why it is so inclusive and fun for all. It's a yearly tradition that I would never miss.
Great place for watching both horses and people. It's something everyone should experience. It's fun to go in the clubhouse and experience the racing up close. See the horses come on to the track, cross the finish line and go in the winner's circle. You can actually feel the horses' hooves pounding down the track.
Saratoga Race Course is a beautiful place to visit. The fee for adults is cheap $5 for adults and for younger children its free. Also, if you go early morning , its free for everyone and you can enjoy seeing the horses and jockey's workout on the track. It's always a great time . I'll be returning. Can't wait.
An absolutely fun place. It makes no difference if you are rich or poor, old or young. Everyone is just in a good mood. Even more so if you win!
The Saratoga Race Course is like nothing else you will find in the US. The racing, the atmosphere, the tradition and the fun is a must see.
...then experience Saratoga where you can watch work outs, visit the stables, get close to the winner's circle and know that each horse is well-cared for because he/she is worth so darn much!
