The boat was quite and smooth and even tho it is just a taxi it was one of my favourite things in New York the crew was awesome full of knowledge and gave a better tour than the tour boats recommend using the water taxi even if you don't need to,

This place operates in the warmer months. You'll probably have to take a bus to find it. There's a volleyball set up as well as several restaurants. It's by a water taxi stop so if you are in Manhattan or Brooklyn you can float on over. If you're here for a week it might be a fun thing to do for 1/2 day.

We used the Water Taxi to visit different areas of New York City. DC was our guide/"Cruise Director". He has lived in New York all his life and was amazing with all the history and dates that he gave us. Different stops are for seeing many sites on the Hudson. We saw the 911 Memorial, Wall Street, a Cathedral, place where George Washington was inaugerated, as well as the Chelesa district. He gave you directions from each landing to the site that was near. He gave history about all the parks, bridges, etc. The taxi went close to the Statue of Liberty for a photo shoot. DC was also very informed on restaurants and bakeries. His crew was very polite and helpful. Just a tiny hint-if you need directions to get back to the taxi, always remember the pier from which you exited the taxi. We asked for directions to the water taxi and were given directions to a different service and had to walk a good distance.

What a great spot for playing in the sand! Volleyball on a beach with the Manhattan skyline as a backdrop! And they had a bar! It was great while it lasted.

We arrived at the pier to begin our adventure. We choose to start our day with the water taxi so we could get a timed ticket for the 911 memorial. The line up was long and slow as their printer was not working. When it was finally our turn we presented our New York passes and where told they do not give out 911 passes anyone with a New York pass any more even though it is listed in our guide book. No apology, we even saw them giving them to others with a New York pass.At the end of the day we where told to line up in the wrong place moving us from the front of the line to the back. Luckily we barley got on the last Ferry of the day back to our dessired stop. The only silver lining to this company is DC he is an excellent tour guide. The others don’t care about customer service at all.

I've been going to NYC for years and this was my first time using the Water Taxi. What a great value! The convenience of getting off when and where you want coupled with the reasonable fare and coolness of traveling on the water makes this my newest NYC favorite!

This beach is closed. The city is now building a dog park. Very sad this went. Apparently the neighborhood did not like the loud noise from the beach.

Get some air and water spray on a fast ride while getting scopes on the Hudson and its city skyline surroundings.

My sister use to live in LIC and the water Taxi beach is fun and also a convenient and fun way to get to NYC.

The on off water taxi is an amazing way to see different areas of New York, we used this to visit the 9/11 Memorial site and saw a few other areas on the way, you could actually spend all day getting on and off at different stops, however it wasn't a very nice day weather wise so we didn't use it to the full extent that we could have had the weather been nice. Try it you won't be disappointed!!

Took a water taxi across to Jersey one lovely spring afternoon with friends. So much more comfortable and relaxing than taking a train, a but or, heavens forbid, driving! When we got to the Jersey side, we walked around, had a cup of coffee and waited for the return trip, equally relaxing.

Generally a bit crowded, though a good idea for those stuck in the city in the summer months. There are a few locations in the city (South Street Seaport, Governor’s Island, etc.). Overpriced food (that you'll wait in line 30 minutes for) coupled with events (concerts, etc.), give it a go.

we went to citi filed for a Mets game and took the water taxi from 59 st and 1 ave in brooklyn, to the game, it was fast, cool ride. give it a try you will like it

Try Governors Island location instead. It was ideal for families with kids. They were playing in the sand while you enjoy the gorgeous Manhattan views and drinks.
