So I've always had bad dreams about being on a ladder hundreds of feet in the air, swaying back and forth, trying to keep my balance. My FitFam, (workout group) asked if I wanted to go skydiving. At 67, this had never been even near to being on my bucket list, but then I thought about that nightmare and figured this might be my way to fight back. So I jumped with the fantastic crew at Skydive last September and have not had that dream in the past six months. As a matter of fact, the experience was so exhilarating, I'll be jumping with my FitFam at Skydive NE every autumn from now on.

I had my first jump on September 27th. It was amazing. I landed, walked back to the front desk, and booked another jump for the following weekend. I had my second jump yesterday, and it was even better. Everyone is extremely friendly. They take really good care of you.Expect to spend the entire day there. You never know how the weather will act. You can check in first thing in the morning, and not jump until late afternoon. Thats just how it is, and its all part of the experience. I cannot wait to go back.

A few notes on things to consider: Plan for a full day even if your jump is scheduled early. The weather can delay jumps. We had to spend the night nearby because of weather. THERE ARE NO REFUNDS! So don't chicken out or plan to come back if you can't jump that day. You have the option of wearing a jump suit or your own clothes but you may get dirty upon landing. Wear sneakers. Food is available on site if you can stomach eating before your jump. If the weather is cool at all factor in how cold it will be at 14,000 ft plus wind chill of free falling. It was in the 60's on the ground when we went so it was really cold on my jump so wear something warm. Also try to make sure you pop your ears on the way up and down. The sound is also very intense so see if they will let you wear ear plugs. The sound and ear pressure were the worst part of my jump. Also make sure the goggles are on really tight. I thought mine were but the air still got to my eyes and I was almost blinded by my own tears (no I wasn't crying). The climb up was around 15-20 minutes in the plane so it gives you a lot of time to think about what you are going to do. Just take deep breaths. The worse part of the whole trip was obviously the jump out of the plane. The initial free falling feeling was nothing you can avoid but it goes by really quick. Next thing you know you're looking down at the ground going really fast. You'll get over the fear really quick. I honestly wasn't as scared as I'd expected and really enjoyed the free fall. When the chute opens it wasn't as violent as I'd expected but once it did it felt like you were free floating and it was so peaceful. Probably one of the best feelings in my life. Skydive New England instructors were great and did a good job making me feel comfortable. I think I was more ready then others but it still helped a lot. I want to go back.

What a fun place for my first jump! Thorough, safe, friendly, and super welcoming.Definitely get the video because you won't believe you jumped as soon as you land!

Their motto... "welcome to your new addiction" on the little wooden sigh is spot on. Pulling into the grounds was beautiful.. We arrived early to grab a bit to eat first at the Ripcord Cafe', the staff was friendly and food was Delicious We ordered the Ham & Cheese Panini with pesto sauce, a Chicken and Bean Burrito with chipotle sauce & a side of onions rings. The portions were not disappointing!! I rolled out of there seconding my decision so soon before check in time. Our group of friends arrived and we checked in... escorting us to the back room with smiles on everyone's face is rewarding. Signing your life away takes all of 15 minutes. Followed with a short video on safety, I don't know if I really could comprehend what was said because I was so filled with the "I'm really doing this" feeling. :) The atmosphere is what it should be. The grounds are clean!! Bathrooms Clean!! the sign your life away room was dated. Clip boards a little colored on, shabby wall decor.. but very "CHILL" The grounds and waiting area outside was a great hang out to calm the nerves.. There are couches or chairs to hang out in right near the giant peace sign made from stone. Load 12 get ready... we meet our tandem instructions & videographer (if you choose, TOTALLY WORTH IT FOR FIRST TIME JUMPERS!!) SHOUT OUT TO CASEY & DAVE YOU BOTH ROCK!!Strapped up and ready to do.. they call your load to the bus. Enjoy the slow motion walk to the most amazing experience of your life. Watch your head entering the plane & soak up every minute of the packed plane ride up... 4K feet...10K feet.. 14K feet and its go time. You still want to turn back, go for it, but not recommended! The view is breathtaking!! How my legs managed to walk me to the door, I think was totally involuntary. Hold the straps, head back, knees bent, One, Two....... Fallllllllllllllllin' Free falling 150-170 MPH Fastest 60 seconds of free falling of my life. AMAZING AMAZING Holding Dave's hand while he gave me some cues to do for the camera. Pulls the Chute and what a shake up. Scared me just a little, but a sense of ahh... after. Let them loosen the straps to make you comfortable. Don't worrie your not going anywhere. Casey let me take control for a bit. Said "welcome to my office"... what an amazing view every day. I didn't want to speed down, first one out of the plane and last one to land I just wanted to enjoy the view. Landing was smooth.. and grounding. Pay the extra $10 and camp out for the night, enjoy the sunset & large fire.I hope each and everyone who goes for this experience gets whatever they are seeking from it. I know I did!! PROPS to the Skydive New England Crew, you all are super.

I went with a group of people at the end of May and it was amazing! The staff was completely easygoing and friendly. They definitely helped me get over my nerves jumping for the first time. I recommend the video package; I'm so glad I have not only the video but also the stills. My videographer was also happy to get pictures with my friends and husband-even though some didn't get the video package. We had food while waiting and it was delicious. We did have to wait around for a few hours because of the wind, and it was a little frustrating not exactly knowing whether or not our group was the next to go up, especially since we were first time jumpers. However, I would definitely go again at this place. I absolutely loved the jump, and the people who worked here made it an amazing experience.

I went tandem skydiving last week for my 60th birthday. Had a great time. Very professional staff. I felt completely safe the entire time.

I had my first jump at Skydive NewEngland in Lebanon on Sept. 5th 2013. When I arrived I was greeted by extremely friendly staff who had myself as well as other customers involved in conversation that had us laughing contagiously. I was then introduced to my videotographer "Freddie" who was so kind and provided me with a video of my jump that I will truly treasure! My instructor was "Matt"....very sweet, considerate and someone I hope to jump again with in the future. If you have ever considered skydiving...this is the place you will want to go! This will now be a "family" tradition for myself and my daughters for years to come! Terrie K

Skydiving was amazing and phenomenal and unlike anything else. But I am not rating skydiving, I am rating the facility. All of the staff were very nice. However, I didn't love the lack of professional atmosphere. Our class started late, we waited around for hours after the class, and then we were told we wouldn't be able to jump due to wind. But we were also told that it wasn't because it was unsafe for us; it was unsafe for a light girl who was in the single jumpers class and it wouldn't be economical to take us up because we were the last tandem jumpers of the day. We waited another half hour and we were luckily able to jump. The situation did sort of ruin the mood though. I understand safety is a top priority, but my safety wasn't an issue, their profit was.Our instructors were extrememly nice. Mine explained everything step by step, and I'm sure if I had been nervous, he would have been very calming. He gave me a "tour" during our jump, which was pretty cool.

Skydive New England is great! The staff is super friendly and willing to answer any questions, its obvious that they love to have a good time but they are also very professional! My boyfriend and I went skydiving yesterday (6/19/13) and it was awesome. We had a class time of 12noon. We checked in at 11:30, paid and were soon in the room for our class (the class consisted of a an introduction and then a video and then the paper work) the class was quick and the movie was good, Kelly was great and really helpful with the paper work and also make it fun. She made sure to address any questions anyone had. Following that we got told what flight we would go up with and then waited. We were in the second flight from our class which was fine, they make sure that if you skydiving with someone (as i was) that you are in the same flight group. Once it was our turn we met our tandems, Shout out to Bret and Olli for being so great! The got us all ready in out harnesses and we were off to the plane! The instructors were awesome, they walked you through everything step by step, it was an amazing experience and we cannot wait to go back to SNE!

Skydive New England was the best place and thing I have ever done. The place is fabulous, atmosphere wonderful! Every single staff member was polite and happy. Very rare in my book. I felt very safe and quite a bit relaxed, which surprised the heck out of me. It was an experience of a lifetime and definitely going back for more jumps! Highly recommend them to everyone, and don't forget to get yourself a video of your jump.

euphemism for Not Safe... check their accident and fatalities stats... Big enthusiasm, seems to be lacking in Safety Checks & Procedures

Actually, I was an active skydiver here for 17 years. Over the years it has improved...staff is excellent, the Ripcord Cafe has decent food, grounds well kept. Though I quit skydiving four years ago I was there 2 weeks ago with friends taking tandem jumps. It's a very peaceful place to camp for a weekend of fun.

Only thing I did not like is the weird guy with the beard (looked fake to me) on the video where you sign your rights to sue them in case you die.....hahaha. It was worth every penny - so I went twice!

This place was the best. The staff, the attitude and overall atmosphere makes your experience, second to none.I celebrated my bday with a great jump and they helped to take the experience to another level. The bonefires, lodging or camping opportinity, and absolute beautiful scenery makes "Skydive New England" the best choice for your skydive adventure. The jump is 20 minutes of your time but Skydive New England is a lifetime experience.
