Fowler’s is a modest beach. There’s limited parking on one side of a dirt road. No public restrooms or showers. No lifeguard or first aid stations. No public water. No snack bars. Ocean water is a fairly frigid 65°F on a good day in high summer. Sea fog is frequent and can blow in to blot out the sun at any time of day. Three paths bordered by poison ivy and thorny sea roses lead to the V-shaped, town-owned beach. The narrow beach is often strewn with seaweed and all kinds of nautical debris. Just off the beach, the rocky sea floor easily cuts and bruises bare feet. We most like the salty scent of southwesterly sea breezes here. We least like the total lack of public facilities.
