It is a bit dangerous to stop here in winter, but what a view. It was overcast but the lake seemed to be glowing from beneath. I love this view in the summer and now I love it in the winter.

We were up there today and the dappled light of the sun through clouds was absolutely stunning on Mooselook Lake. As we were northbound, it was primary on my driver's side. My passenger didn't have such a great view, but was quite distressed by my enchantment. Get up there and see it. For real. We drove Durango to Telluride two years ago and thought our home state had nothing to offer in response. This view does it, complete with a pulp truck coming the other way on our side!

A good place to stretch your legs....and a good photo opportunity...An excellent preview of things to come when you reach the town of Rangeley

Very nice views and a great place to just sit and take in the views. We had trouble finding it, but when we did, we were glad to see the beautiful views.

rt 17. splendid at sunset. views of lakes and distant mountains only 10 miles out of town. alternate route to or from region.

we liked that it was not crowded..we wished that there had been benches to sit. There was interesting information on signs at this location and we could see for miles.

Easy access no dislikes for this place and there are plenty of parking spaces for everyone.its possible to see most of the lakes in the area

Beautiful, beautiful views that you can just pull up in your car and admire. Great for older people or families with young children that can't hike to such overlooks.

Height of Land offers the best vantage point for great views of Rangeley Lake. It is an elevated site, so the view is panoramic. The only issue we had was that the sign marking the pull-off entrance was gone--from the direction we were approaching from--so we had to turn around & come back, because I didn't believe my Garmin's "You have arrived" announcement.

Beautiful view of lake and surrounding area. Wonderful site for sunset photos. Lovely fall foliage at this time of year.

The view was excellent! A must see on a clear day. Take a scenic drive and be sure to stop here the view will not disappoint!

A short drive from Oquossoc on Route 17S is this beautiful stop with panoramic lake and mountain views. Ample parking and descriptive signage makes this stop a must.

These views are not to be missed if you live in Maine. What a treasure. There are lots of areas to stop and take in all of the sights. Go up around Rangeley lake and then down threw Mooselookmeguntic Lake will bring you right to Height of land. On your way home make sure to stop and get an amazing burger at Hotel Rumford bust $5.00 burger and homemade chips in the state. It's just a little hole in the wall go slow or you might miss it. 65 Canal St, Rumford, ME 04276

The view at the Height of Land was excellent! We have friends in Rangeley, Maine, and always stop to look at the view.

Beautiful views .bike into rangeley for some real fun or pick up the AT and hike over to route 4 it's spectacular
