The whole experience could not have been better! Doreen and Kevin were friendly and professional assisting me with scheduling the right cruise to meet my goal of a perfect day with friends on Rangeley Lake, including being flexible with dates to ensure the best weather possible. I chose the 3 hour private cruise for the six of us and was thrilled with it. The weather was perfect with blue skies and temperatures in the mid-60's, fall foliage was at its peak, and the loons were still on the lake getting ready for their journey south. Kevin was great as the captain of the Oquossoc Lady, providing narration during our entire cruise including the history of the boat, the lake regions, the wildlife, the homes and "camps", and the people who live in the area. They will give you a list of everything to bring based on the time of year, the length of the cruise and the weather. It was cool that day but they provided warm blankets for us to use. Do not forget your camera! The scenery is breath-taking with the clean clear lake surrounded by the mountains, bald eagles soaring overhead or roosting in a tree, the loons on the water, and the interesting lake homes and camps dotting the shoreline. My group had a great time and we would recommend this activity to anyone planning to visit the area. Thanks Doreen and Kevin!!!

We especially enjoyed the historical perspective that Kevin gave us regarding the area. This was the first time we had been to the East Coast and Maine, so the lesson was particularly interesting. Even our teens enjoyed the cruise and the background of the area, and the history of the boat. We would highly recommend this cruise to other travelers in the Rangeley area. Thanks Kevin!

We totally enjoyed our 2 hr. cruise with Kevin on Sept. 27, 2014. The weather couldn't have been better, in fact, unseasonably warm for late September. Kevin's narration answered all of our unasked questions about the area. We thoroughly endorse this trip to take while in the Rangeley area. Thanks Doreen & Kevin for managing such a well-run activity. Joan & Ray Yarmouth ME

What a remarkable excursion on the Oquossoc Lady. Truly an enjoyable and relaxing boat tour. Kevin is one of the most friendly and knowledgeable people we met during our time in Rangeley. His love of the lakes, the Rangeley area, and his beautiful boat are quite evident. This is a "must see and do" type thing! We're going back next year for sure! This boat ride was definitely one of the "highlights" on our entire trip. A guaranteed great time!

Kevin so generous with his knowledge and enthusiastic in sharing his love of the area! The views of the lakeshore and surrounding mountains are superb.... This is the best orientation you can get.

Our Rangeley Lakes trip was topped off with this perfect weather cruise. Thanks to the knowledge of our Ex-Navy pilot Kevin!

Just got back from Rangeley Lake and the scenery was breathtaking this time of year. One of the highlights of the week was a one hour tour on the Oquossoc Lady with Kevin. This is a quiet time of year, and we enjoyed the trip with another couple. The afternoon weather was outstanding and Kevin and Doreen's hospitality is outstanding. We took this tour because of the tripadvisor reviews and we were not disappointed. Kevin brought us to see a female and male loon with their new baby and explained all about their migration habits. He shared knowledge about the lake, the islands and even the bald eagle we saw soaring around the lake. Wished we had time to take his other tours, but we plan on coming back next year and will probably try his kayaking tour if we come early enough in the season.

One of our highlight in our Rangeley visit was the boat trip on Mooselookmeguntic (whatta name!!!!). I have deal with many local business before, and while most of them are really nice and friendly - Doreen and Kevin are the real deal. Even before the event, when I placed my booking over the phone I immediately know that the person at the other end of the phone is someone special. Doreen is the most accommodating, kind and caring person - and this is coming from just the short conversation over the phone. She meticulously give us direction to their place from Rangeley and because of that we had no problem getting to the boat dock. We were greeted by her upon arrival, the other guests cancelled (it was going to rain that day) but she accommodated us by not canceling the boat right. She brought us to Kevin, and Kevin have this really gregarious personality - ultra friendly but both of them immediately makes you feel like you have been their friends for the longest time! And I am someone who is super perceptive. Kevin explains the route that we will be taking, and Doreen helps us get into the boat, released the rope and off we go.The scenery was breathtaking - and although the weather was not optimum (it was a bit gloomy) we have a great view of the mountain and the islands. The boat was low enough to the water that we think we can touch the water (we did not - it was took cold). Kevin is very knowledgeable about almost everything - from the history of the lake (and islands) to some funny facts about bears raiding blueberries farms and run away when the pickers come and pick the blackberries. This guy has experience almost everything, ask him anything that deals with wilderness and he will have an answer for you. We learned about the cabin in the island - what the people considered as camps, the origin of Rangeley, the population, heck we even learn about the local ordinances (all house must be built 100 feet away from the shore haha). I saw loons for the first time - did not even know what loons are, and Kevin even know the birds, and make some weird bird calls trying to coax the loons to flap their wings. It was fun. Half way through Kevin told us that Doreen made some hot tea for us, (awww she is so nice) and we had hot tea while bundled up on the blankets as we speed across the lake. What an experience. The trip is ideal one hour long. While I love being in the boat, I am glad that I can leave after an hour - although my partner and I regret that we have to say good bye with Doreen and Kevin. They are really really awesome people. We are so lucky.

Our second tour with Kevin on beautiful Rangeley lake and it was just as great as last time.Fantastic Fall colours. Both Kevin and Doreen are very welcoming. This time the cruise took us to a different part of the lake and once again Kevin was full of interesting facts about the history and wildlife in the area. We are looking forward to doing a kayak tour with their mothership next summer.

My daughter got married on the shore of Mooselookmeguntic Lake in Rangeley Maine a few weeks ago and Kevin and Doreen provided not only daytime cruises for our guests but a "Just Married" getaway for bride and groom from the site of the ceremony to the site of the reception. It was magical! Our guests got to see the lake and hear of its history (loon-sitings guaranteed!) during the day and the happy couple got a few minutes alone on the water of this special lake before the party started. Kevin and Doreen were awesome and we highly, HIGHLY, recommend them for weddings and any other events - bachelorette parties, etc. It will be an experience your guests will remember and they will experience a bit of the magic of the Rangeley Lakes area to take home with them.Renee

This lake cruise was recommended as one not to be missed and I totally agree. As captain, Kevin was most informative and related interesting stories about the area. I highly recommend a cruise with Kevin and will be taking another next year when I return to Rangeley.

We have all taken tours, and it is dependent mostly on the lead guides to make it work, and Kevin and Doreen make it personal. you feel welcomed, and Kevin talked in a way you know he loves the area, and wants you to love it also. I will return.

We've visited the Rangeley Lakes area many times since 1978 but this was our first opportunity to get out on this big lake, as we usually stay in a housekeeping cabin on one of the smaller lakes (ponds) in the area. The late afternoon cruise on the Oquossoc Lady was really special. We heard and saw loons close up, including a baby riding on his parent's back.We spotted a bald eagle resting in a tall pine. We saw beautiful cinnamon crested merganser ducks. Kevin is a knowledgeable host/captain and Doreen a gracious and welcoming partner on the dock. Viewing the shorefront properties was a treat and learning about the history of several of the old, now defunct hotels was interesting. Kevin's "Maine Quiz" was good fun and reminded us of forgotten bits of Maine history and legend. We highly recommend this cruise - and oh! the boat is a beauty!

There were four in our group, we are from Maryland and we really enjoyed the cruise on Rangeley Lake in the the Oquossoc Lady, a beautifully restored wooden boat. The views along the lake were stunning. Kevin and Doreen were great hosts and we thoroughly enjoyed learning about the history of Rangeley and the surrounding area from Kevin who is very knowledgeable. Kevin and Dorren went out of their way to accomodate our wheelchair accessibility needs and made our cruise feel very personailized. Thanks to Kevin and Doreen for making our trip to Rangeley memorable including the extra time spent so that we could see up close the Loon's we had been searching for. This cruise is highly recomended!
