We enjoy walking on this beach in the early evening, you can walk all the way to downtown Ogunquit if you like. The parking is free in the evenings. We are not sunbathers, so evening is great for us.
This beach is wide and somewhat windy on most occasions. Parking is about 100 yards from the beach and across a foot bridge.
Peaceful and beautiful. Not too many people, just a perfect beach with a clear view of the Atlantic. If I sat for any longer, I could have slept here.
When you get across the footbridge, you find a nice clean strip of beach. Bathrooms and a little food house.
There are tremendous tide differences here to experience or just watch happen--just be aware that it will happen. Fun place with kids, at low tide you can walk out forever. Love it!!!!
We stayed at a Motel near here and used this beach access everyday. There is a parking lot at the end of the road and a footbridge to get to the beach. We were here in Oct so it was not crowded and they were not charging to park. The area was nice and clean.
It is a very nice foot bridge, but not something i need to see again. Would rather find the coffee shop in perkins cove.
Not sure what this is like in the summer, but in October, it's pretty empty and a nice place to walk on a sunny day. (Bonus that it was only a short walk from our hotel this year.)
Since we visited in October, I can't speak to the beach as a place to swim. However, it was perfect for strolling and surf watching in the off season.
Of course it was September, but the beach was still nice to be on. Lots of people walking and just enjoying the water and sand. Yup, we kept our jackets on;)
Just felt like the best little beach area was off season so felt like we had the beach to our selves
I went to this beach to view a beautiful sunrise and wasn't disappointed. The beach was clean and very pretty. I loved the walk along the "foot bridge".
The beach was within walking distance from our bed and breakfast. The beach was well maintained and we enjoyed walking up and down the beach. Morning, noon or early evening. It always a pleasant experience.
Here is what we love about Ogunquit and Wells, ME: The beaches are long and flat for easy walking that will take you past river views, dunes and endless ocean. The Marginal Way walk in downtown Ogunquit gives you a great overview of the river meeting the ocean but walk down to beach to FootBridge and cross over the wooden bridge to see a perfectly beautiful part of Maine.
If it's too windy on the beach facing the sea, you just need to go back under the Footbridge to find 1- warmer water 2- warmer weather (the wind is blocked by the dunes). Ideal to read or to play with small children (the water's not deep).
