The views are nice in this park. There is typically a nice breeze there which can be refreshing during the summer but cool at other times. I would not swim or eat shellfish from that area. It is a real good place to get in some walking.
Found this park online while looking for places to walk our dog. you would never find it by driving by, it is through neighborhoods and side streets. It's not huge but plenty of room to sit or play in the grass, walk the sandy beach but a lot of broken shells. A nice view of the lighthouse. Small and quiet place!
Nice little park to sit on a bench and look at a lighthouse. There was a playground nearby for kids.
Although this park is located in a development it was much more inviting than the Warwick Neck Lighthouse. Plenty of parking. Lots of grass for sunbathing, reading, socializing and picnicking. Room for ball playing and games. And of course the beach and fishing area. As I entered I was enveloped by the peace and serenity of years ago when my ancestors settled the area.
What a nice little park!! We enjoyed our visit to Warwick immensely. We saw all of Rhode Island's lighthouses during this trip, and used Warwick as our "home base" to return to each evening. Loved the lighthouse, and the town in general.
Packed a picnic bag and enjoyed the day....nice picnic tables and not crowded for a mid day saturday afternoon...lots of interesting sights to see
Nice beach to stroll along, fish, sit on some benches or swings. Nice view of the lighthouse. It is just a small beach though, nothing fancy, I like that I am close and can take the kids to the little playground and stick our feet in the water.
Good place to walk the beach and enjoy the summer view. You can walk along all the beach area and find some seaglass. People will be fishing in the area too. Pack a lunch no places to eat in the area. Yet, it is about a mile drive before you can find your first place to eat. Sit relax read and enjoy the view.
Great to get away from the crowds.I often visit mid week, weekends are much livelier here, but most times its a refuge from the hustle and bustle of Warwick. A nice beach that does have a life guard at times. Usual Dawn to dusk opening times.Great place to fish, or just a walk along the shore.
Nice place to pick shells and have a picnic. No big ocean impression here, but you do get the water, the seaside, some view and sea foul and lots and lots of shells...wear beach shoes. Pack a picnic or pick one up - picnic opportunities abound!
Scenic, peaceful and a great place to take kids to play. The location is a nice mix of beach and playground all in one. You can also go fishing or just watch the sunset. Bring a camera!
We came here for the playground and the views. The kids had a great time in the playground, though it's not the largest playground out there and only encompasses a very, very small part of this park. The beach is separate from the playground, though there is a short path from the playground to the beach. It would be a fair distance to walk end-to-end along the beach because this is a long park. But there are parking spots along the entire length of the park, and you can drive from the playground parking to the other end of the park where there is a view of a nearby lighthouse across the water (a house with a light tower). There is also a tower-only lighthouse that can be seen from both the playground's end of the park and the other end of the park.At that other end of the park from the playground, there are some memorials for those who have drowned in the water off the beach and also a warning about dangerous rip currents. So, while there is a beach, it seems dangerous to swim there. But we came for the playground, and the kids had a great time.
We arrived as the sun was setting - and giving way to a GIANT moon! Well worth the trip & happy to have seen so many other lighthouse affectianados with their cameras as well.
This is a little visited beach. The view is wonderful. It is a point so that you are surrounded on three side by Narragansett Bay and it is a wonderful view.
not the place I would swim but very nice beach area and very nice just to sit and enjoy the weather an view. On one side you can see thecity of Providence while on the other there is a lighthouse. Lots of people and a restroom close by. There is a small playground area too.Plenty of parking all free. there is a small memorial area too
