Not open to the public. Its an Official residence of the Coast Guard. It is surrounded by private residences.
I was so disappointed when we eventually located the lighthouse at the deadened of a street in a development with chain link fence and stop signs abound. Don't bother! What a waste.
You can get in, not worth trying to find to just get a pic thru the gates with 3 large STOP Signs on them! Not worth going, FYI
Lighthouse itself is not accessible. It is fenced off. The trip through the gorgeous neighborhood is worth the drive.
This was one of our stops, as we were viewing all of Rhode Island's lighthouses this week. This is a lovely lighthouse! We would have liked to go all the way up to it, but the gate was locked. While we were there, some workers arrived, and offered to let us take pictures while they had the gate open! It really is a nice light.
You can get a nice view of it by driving to the end of Warwick Neck Road and peering through the gates, or, if you have access to a boat, the best views are from the water. A Coast Guard family lives in the light keepers house. Even if the gates are open, it's not ok to go through them and look around with permission from the residents.
Was hard to find, the houses we passed were amazing & after we left the lighthouse, we did have fun chasing the full moon to add to our colection of photographs from the day's adventures
Lighthouse is on USA Coast property and is not accessible. It can be seen up close on the adjacent bay water.
At Christmas time the lighthouse is decorated. You can park near the gates outside of the grounds and enjoy the breath-taking view. Attend a sunrise service on Easter Sunday morning on the waterfront, plus to get to see the lighthouse up close. Great experience.
This is located at the end of a very nice well healed residential area - worth the drive down - loved the School on the left hand side of the road - pity some of the old building have been left unrepaired and unkept
Peaceful place to sit on the rocks and look out at the waves.
having used Warwick Neck Ave as a routine running route for years, this beautiful attraction can only be seen from the water, or behind the fence from the street. Have never seen tours offered and they do not let you go on the grounds. To bad, seems like it would be beautiful. Nice to go and snag a picture, but if you want to see the ocean, head on down to the recently opened Rocky Point walking path. This lighthouse is only a must see if you are in Warwick, bored, and driving around and are going that way. Or, if you are trying to grab a photo of every lighthouse in RI. Not much fanfare here.
We had a little trouble finding it at first. The best route (along major roads) is to take Warwick Neck Avenue and drive to the very end. You cannot miss it as the road eventually ends in a dead end. The lighthouse will be right in front of you.I think we arrived too late in the evening and the gates were closed, but the sight was beautiful as well as memorable.
This beautiful lighthouse is a must see when visiting Warwick RI. Also visit Conimicut lighthouse in Warwick.
