Block Island is the place to be when Captain Nick's holds it's annual Music Fest (June 10-15 in 2014).Each hour, beginning at 5:00 pm, they host a new band. The six day long event showcases 48 bands in total. Every band is different, some are regional, others from all across the country.It is a super relaxed atmosphere with lots of great music, free food and free admission.Stay for a couple of days, hike, bike or go to the beach all day, then head to Captain Nick's for the music.

We lucked out walking by when the RI army band was jamming at Capt Nick's. Full horn section, wild gutarist and a great female singer. These young patriots can rock! During this music fest week a new band plays every hour from 5PM on. They had Susi Bob rolling some mad crispy shrimp rolls for $10 and then burgers & dogs were free. One bar inside, one out and one upstairs….also two stages in & outdoors. We had so much fun Friday night we walked back Sat night from dinner at Dead Eye Dicks.
