My father was rector from 1954-1971 - the church as been thoroughly updated structurally and restored with handicapped access. The tour is wonderfully informative with volunteers, the campus including the Mia Lin designed Queen Anne Square, Honeyman Hall, the Goelet garden and original cemetery looked fantastic. It was a great moment to revisit an important 18th century building and a place where I grew up.

For a voluntary, suggested donation of $5 (yes, that's $5!), you get an exceptional tour of a very historic structure! Our docent, Harle Tinney, was an exceptional guide explaining the fascinating history of the church! A highlight was getting to sit in the pew used by both George Washington and Queen Elizabeth during their respective visits! The stained glass windows are stunning including the two using a special technique to simulate fabric. Do not miss this tour when in downtown Newport!

I have walked passed this church hundreds of times and finally went in to check it out. WOW, what an amazing church it is. They don't make them like it anymore. You should def plan on a 1/2 hour to walk around the inside.

The church is beautiful and the tour was short, but interesting. There were lots of little tid- bits of history that were fun to learn. Two glorious Tiffany stained glass windows!

Our docent gave a wonderful tour of this very historic piece of New England history during English rule.

What a beautiful place that has seen its list of historical figures. The staff provides free tours of the church with interesting historical facts about the church and the people who have been there including President Washington and Queen Elizabeth. It is a must see piece of history.

I stopped in late in the day and they were actually getting ready to close, but I had a few minutes to take a short walk inside and get a feel for the place. It's beautifully maintained with lots of history. I will make a point to arrive earlier next time so I can learn more about it. Parking is in the city lot nearby.

The church has such great history. We had a very knowledgeable docent, who provided a fantastic tour. Glad we stopped in.

Don't just take the tour, visit on a Sunday and attend the worship service. The service is meaningful especially when you pause to think about just how many have worshipped there and for how many years others have sat where you are sitting. Enjoy the physical building during the service and make sure to note some of the nautical "touches" in the décor. A great way to spend a quiet hour reflecting...

This is a Newport landmark and can be seen from the harbor as you approach the city from the sea. It is one of the most beautifully preserved colonial churches in New England. The graveyard is worth the visit with many famous people buried here. George Washington himself attended services here. Friendly guides.

The towering steeple through the trees gives one a feeling that a small country church rests behind the greenery. The closer we walked, the better views, photos and angles we viewed. Many various views of this structure speaks to the grandeur of this white, wood clad historical church. The history runs deeply. Inside, one could pause, reflect and think through the centuries of past wealth, family names, beliefs and rules past members held. Services still held today and guided tours are offered during the day. The stained glass windows, facing West speak to some of the more wealthy families of the past. Each families pray box was placed according to monetary contributions. In historical RI, this is a tough race.

This is the oldest Episcopalian church in RI and it's history goes back to 1693. There is a tour guide to tell you the history of the building and show you around. Of special interest are the stained glass windows. We also liked looking around the church cemetary because of the age

The Trinity church is a beautiful old structure with an amazing history. For a small donation a member of the current day congregation gives a tour adjusted to whatever the visitor would like to hear, in depth or a short version.

Beautiful Episcopal church in the center of Newport, built in 1726. In front of the church is a small graveyard, stones with various descriptions, and early remains of some structures. Definitely attend a Sunday service!

Check out the church President Kennedy got married in. Very pretty, nice park in front and lots of pretty flowers.
