Small historical village just across the river from Cincinnati- Mainstrasse has a lot to offer. There's a small collection of local shops, a few restaurants and lots of bars that can easily accommodate any genre. Mainstrasse also hosts quite a few festivals throughout the year - don't forget to try the fried pb & j ! Pipers soft serve is a must. Grab and cone and wait for the clock to chime !

We were there in April and are headed back this spring. The area has a lovely old world feel to it. We checked out the ongoing weekend flea market in the center and then, due to the cool weather, ducked into the Cock & Bull restaurant for a bite. Enjoyed every bit of it.

The majority of the places are closed on Sunday. I'm sure MainStasse is better for visiting when it's not the middle of winter, but when we visited in January. There wasn't anything going on. The history is interesting, and the houses around are cute.

Unfortunately Chez Nora closed, but this area is still one of our favorites with Dee Felice and Cock and Bull, and Bouquet Restaurant for special occasions!

We love the Mainstrasse area. We take out of town visitors there quite often. There is a lot of bars and restaurants all within easy walking distance of each other. The parking is easier than downtown Cincy.

It's a nice little area, and definitely worth checking out if you're in the area. If you're looking for a large historic district to spend multiple hours in, though, you might be disappointed. We traversed the entire area, including visiting multiple stores, in less than 90 minutes.

Stayed at a hotel nearby , many places to eat , bars to play pool or have nice dinner. Fun fall festivals, across the river from Cinn.

There are some really good restaurants and bars in this historic German village. There is street parking and some pay lots. The area is really cool and with a strong German influence.

The historic neighborhoods of Covington are very interesting to explore, and we are frequent visitors who greatly enjoy the architecture and the atmosphere. The Main Strasse Village is where we go for lunch after walking, and is a delight to experience. It's great that our historic cities have been re-discovered, as they are so much more interesting than are the Burbs.

Good area if you like to do a lil bar hopping... area looks a lil sketchy but some cool looking bars!

We just made our first visit to MainStrasse Village and cannot wait to explore it more. We love old neighborhoods and the architecture and tree-lined streets here were amazing. There is a great mix of restaurants, bars and small businesses. The fountain area in the heart of the hood was playing host to a guitarist who made the stroll around the area even more enjoyable. Our waiter said that they regularly have performers there on the weekend. On Sunday morning a yoga class was happening outside in the area. There was an eclectic group of folks in the area when we were there and everyone seemed friendly and to be having a great time. This area is just across the river from downtown Cincinnati and honestly, if we were to relocate for work, we would seriously consider this area for its' great vibe, neighborhood feel and easy access to downtown Cincy, as a place to live.

On the other side of the river in Cincinnati for the evening this charming Germanic village is worth a crossing of the Brooklyn Bridge prototype for a look.

If you can make it there during one of their festivals it's really great, especially in October. It's a really neat little town, you can park your car or walk from your hotel and there are bars and shops on every corner. In the summertime on weekends they have live bands outside and it's just a really great vibe. You will see all ages of every type and style at any given time. The buildings are beautiful to look at and they have plenty of benches under trees to just sit and relax and people watch. Very friendly atmosphere!

There are lots of shops to visit in MainStrass and lots of good food. There is a monograming (MK's) that has an excellent assortment of gifts. There is a teacher store (John R Green) and toy store (Stoney's) that has lots of cute items for children that you may not find anywhere else. They also have activites for the kiddos sometimes. There is a thrift store. There are also plenty of options to get a bite to eat.

Beautiful architecture, great little cafés and restaurants make this a very cool place to wander around and drop into shops of interest or grab a bite to eat. Bouquet restaurant was my favorite.
