There is more to do outside than inside. The "mall" area is right across from the aquarium. It wasn't crowded at all in January. We went to the movie theater. Tickets are purchased on the second level, and the theaters take the space of the entire top level. There aren't a lot of store to shop at, but the theater was nice. Lots of restaurants around the area.
This place had a whole lot more than I was expecting! My Wife and I had a great time here visiting all the shops. Ate dinner at Dicks Last Resort and went to Newport Aquarium.
After visiting the aquarium we ate lunch at the Hofbrauhaus across the street and then went back to watch a movie. It was a nice theatre and everyone was friendly. We also visited a Lego display in the mall that had some cool Lego villages. Lots of places to eat. Only marked it down 1 because there weren't many signs telling us how to get anywhere(like to the actual theatre).
This area has lots of nice restaurants, shops and an aquarium. There is also a movie theater and it is near the Purple Bridge. Parking is free from Monday to Thursday at around the lunch hour so as to attract visitors to the restaurants within the complex. This is popular venue at all times of the year.
Newport on the Levee is our favorite outdoor spot during pleasant weather. There's something for everyone there from the Aquarium to restaurants to carriage rides. Family fun
Just another struggling outdoor mall with maybe 4 stores. Food options are limited to overpriced chains and movie theater is filthy.
Only two magic theaters east of the Mississippi and there's one here at Newport on the Levy. Up close and personal magic acts. Local and internationally known magicians. Great family fun,.
We happened on this place one afternoon here on an impromptu visit. We had escaped away for a weekend getaway and went for a drive to see what we could see across the river from Cincinnati. When we found this inviting place we found a place to park and went into it. We walked through the shops, took in a movie and even went to the comedy club. It was a very good diversion for a rainy fall day. Definitely worthy of a visit.
We went there for a particular restaurant. Otherwise, I would have no desire to be there. The place is nothing special other than it brings together restaurants and the aquarium.
We were in town for a day and headed down here for something to do before catching a Reds game later that night. We had some fish for lunch at Mitchell's Fish Market (great view), bought some fudge and a gigantic gummy bear at Sweet Dreams Candy Co., and visited the Newport Aquarium. If you live more than 50 miles away like us, you can stop by the Welcome Center to pickup a coupon booklet. We used a coupon to have a free appetizer at Mitchell's. There was also a coupon for candy at Sweet Dreams, but we forgot to use it. I guess the advertisement worked though. The folks at the Welcome Center weren't really all that helpful. When I asked about anything to do with going to see a Cincinnati Reds game they were clueless and weren't able to offer any advice or suggestions. The only thing they could tell me was that they used to sell Reds tickets here but not anymore. What would have been nice was if they could have let me know about Triple Play at Newport on the Levee. This is a special program they are offering from April-Oct that gives you a FREE round trip shuttle to and from the Reds games if you park at the levee and make a purchase at a participating venue. Let's see, I parked at the venue (check), I made a purchase at a participating venue (check), yet didn't get a free shuttle ride (no dice) since I didn't find out about it until afterwards. I'm not really all that bitter about it. I guess it just would have been nice to be able to take advantage of this extra perk. The day we visited happened to be a Thursday. We could tell they were setting up for something along the river, but we had no idea what it was at the time. Looking back, it was for the LIVE at the Levee Summer Concert Series. They hosted a FREE concert with a live band every Thursday from 7PM - 10PM along the Riverfront. When we were there so were Naked Karate Girls. This ran from May 29 - Sep 4 so it's over now, but they will do it again next summer.Parking is FREE here for lunch Mon - Thur (11AM - 2PM). Outside these hours during these days is just $2. This is a good parking option for Reds games since you can park here and then walk across the Purple People Bridge to Ohio instead of paying $10 and up for parking over there. Plus, you'll get get to see a really cool bridge that's purple! Yet another thing I didn't figure out until it was too late. Maybe, this will help someone else.
I used to live here and I def wouldnt come here to shop. However if youre killing time before the game or wanting to get some food then its a nice stop. Great views. As a hint park under the bridge next to aquarium, cheapest parking in town (used to work at NAQ).
This was the best part of our trip! So many cute shops and they even had a small fun park area where my kids were strapped into harnesses and let fly on a trampoline. The lady was fantastic and gave us a great deal so all 3 of my kids could enoy!
Spent a fall w/e in Newport. our hotel was convenient to the levee area. specialty shop mall, lots of restaurants + the whole area is clean, feels safe and is A-OK! many of the restaurants, sports bars, offer outdoor seating to enjoy a view of the Ohio River and Cincy skyline. not enough attractions to merit more than an afternoon or evening. right next to the Newport Aquarium.
We took a nice evening walk on the Levee. The skyline to Cincy is always very beautiful to take pictures of and share. People are friendly and the trolley rides are only $1!
Plenty of nearby affordable parking! Many food venues available! Not only home to the Newport Aquarium, but a Barnes and Noble, AMC Theater, a bowling alley and a comedy club are also in the complex! The interior has also been referred to as a "mall" - but there aren't many store fronts that are open.
