The day we stopped for a photo op was a rainy cold day, but the photo opportunities were fun. It was an early Sunday morning so no problem with parking. Would be a nice place to go and have a picnic and throw a foot ball around. My horse lover daughter enjoyed the horse statues.

Each time I return to Lexington I drive by this park! It's such a wonderful sight with all those beautiful horse sculptures. It's on a busy intersection and hard to take a pic without getting other things in the pic, but I still take them every year I return!

The sculptors were very life-like, beautiful work. Parking was fairly easy and we could have spent more time, but the weather was not cooperating for us during our visit.

I just wish it was bigger and had more beautifully made horses! Perfect for walking around after lunch.

Although this park is near a very busy intersection it is still quite picturesque. It has many statues of horses as well as people famous in the horse industry dotted throughout the park. The highlight would be the seven life size horses in bronze that are racing toward a finish line. There is a beautiful fountain at this spot. Take the time to locate the break in the wall where the fountain is. If you look through it you can get an interesting view of what a photo finish looks like.

I had driven past here many times when in town; so glad we finally stopped. The detail on the sculptures is so much better up close and there are great placques around the park with interesting info on people connected with horses.

This park was wonderful! I loved the statues of the horses. They are so life like. Great place to visit.

Bayney

This is a very small pocket park downtown, filling a long skinny piece of ground. It's been well designed, though, with running water, fountains, and beautiful equine sculptures. Also pays tribute to many notable people in the thoroughbred racing legacy in Kentucky, including many African-American jockeys from the 19th century like Issac Murphy.

Not worth the trip into town unless you are seeing something else. Small (very) park but the kids can run around a bit. My 10 ear old was bored within minutes :(

The detail of each of the works of art is stunning in detail and beauty! A "must see" for anyone journeying to the Central Kentucky area!

I am not the world's biggest equestrian enthusiast but this was very interesting. There are multiple plaques mounted at ground level not seen from the street that tell of the many historical persons who have made the horse industry what it is today. And of course, the sculptures seen from your car window are beautifully detailed when observed up close. A word of warning - there sometimes will be some questionable characters whom I felt uncomfortable being around. Lock your car and stay in a group and in public site.

The statues are very well maintained. I loved the tour of the park where you get the history of the most prominent people of Lexington.

We enjoyed walking in the small park that gave us some history on the famous horses and their founders. The statues in front were amazingly detailed. We took several pictures with them because they were so cool. It is a one time visit though.

We began our walk through downtown Lexington here. The kids could cool off and relax while I was able to take some pretty cute pictures. Right beside it was ample parking and a great little coffee shop.

We visited the Thoroughbred Park at Sunset, and it was beautiful. There are bronze horses at the front, and plaques through the park of famous horse owners. There is also a nice coffee shop on the corner, so you can pick up a little treat and stroll in the park.
