Finest theatre in Montana. And also the best bargain. Has all the new 3d format movies and killer sound system.
The Washoe Theatre is one of America's true art deco treasures. The preservation of this 1930's masterpiece is amazing and well worth a side trip to Anaconda. For those who have never experienced a movie in a true movie palace, the Washoe is a definite must see. Simply seeing the theatre is well worth the price of admission.
We drove through a very heavy rainstorm to drive to Anaconda to see Maleficent in 3D at the Washoe Theater. Tickets $6 a piece, a real bargain. The theater must be seen to be believed. What a magnificent place it is! The walls and ceilings are gorgeous. The popcorn and candy bars and soft drinks are a bargain too. We found the center of the theater (we were early and had our pick of seats) and were prepared for a great show. We watched an hour and guess what? They had an intermission so you could potty or get more goodies from the snack bar. Wonderful. Back to the movie....a great movie by the way and a good time was had by all. You can buy postcards of the theater for .50 cents each, I did and then took some photos of my own. We have been meaning to do this for ages and finally we did...we now have their movie schedule and will be visiting more often. We want to stay over night and just do Anaconda..they have lots of great architecture and interesting places to see and shops to visit.
The Washoe Theater in Anaconda, Montana is an amazing experience, the theater itself truly is one of a kind, the building is very ornate and is generally kept quite clean. refreshments can be purchased at a very reasonable price. Generally, the theater is a great experience that I would highly recommend.
We went to the Washoe for one of the last of its original projector-shown films. The theatre is now digital. Something is lost in that you can't sit near or hear the projector noise anymore in the balcony area!We complimented Mr. Lussy on his care of the theatre and he took us on a tour backstage. Wonderful time!
Lots of movies at this iconic theatre as a small child. Such a treat. It is still beautiful and the owners do a great job keeping it up.
Love this theatre, step back into the past! Large stage balcony and real velvet curtains and ropes. Must see when in Anaconda.
This is a gem! The Art Deco style is so beautiful, the murals and light fixtures are spectacular and in such good shape. A must see!
Owner let us in an hour before movie screening time for free. Amazing piece of architecture, silk curtains, balcony, deco artwork and fittings everywhere. Exterior brickwork is incredible. They don't make them like this anymore, make the short detour off the highway, or take the scenic route from Bozeman, it is worth the effort.
This theatre is incredible, it is an old time experience, straight out of the 60's. even standing outside of it is a wonderful thing to do. Catch a movie there while you are in town if you can. Not sure but they used to have $1nights. The inside is incredible even without a move on! Such an experience.
Well, my sister got married here many years ago, and so it always holds a dear place in my heart. We used to drive over on occasion for a new movie, mostly for the neat atmosphere. The sound was always the same quality as those in a more modern theater, but the carpeted balcony for $0.50 extra, the cheap ticket prices, and the gorgeous murals all over the walls made the expierence completely worth the drive every time!
This is a real treat if you're in the Anaconda area. An old time theater experience with new movies. There was even an intermission during the middle of the movie which is how it was in the old days. Tickets and snacks were extremely reasonable. Balcony seating is available for an additional 50 cents. Step back in time and enjoy what it was like many, many years ago.
This is a wonderful functioning old theatre with architecture and decor you are not likely to see anywhere else these days. And the prices are just as delightful as the venue!
So worth going. The theater is one of a kind. All original and for just a few cents more you can sit in the balcony away from children, teenagers too if desired! Popcorn and "incidentals" are very reasonable in price for going to the show. Only $4.00 tickets on weekends!!! Real gem this is! You get an intermission half way through movie just like the old days, everything about this place is authentic! Even if the movie isn't great, the experience inside sure is!
One of the best theaters I've ever been to. Amazing architectural elements along with affordable tickets and concessions. Balcony seating is a great treat.
