I hiked with Glacier Adventure Guides in Spring 2012 (3 days, mostly soaking rain) and again in Autumn 2014 (7 days, glorious weather) and both times were way beyond my expectations. NW Montana was stunning in both weather conditions and the guides did a phenomenal job planning the hikes to make the most of the weather based on a lot of experience, their knowledge about the area and creativity. They've scouted out a really wide variety of some of the most lovely and off-the-beaten-path hikes (I think we saw maybe a dozen people over the most recent trip's whole seven days) that were just challenging enough considering my sea-level constitution. After days that I might've pushed myself harder (the trails meandered through sunlight and shade with a combination of panoramic views of the mountains, changing fall colors in fairytale forests, lots of glass-clear mountain lakes and rivers, and tons more, so of course I wanted to see it all), they also knew a little easier trails to rest up some the next day. They encouraged me to go at my own pace and were just fine stopping when I wanted to take everything in, rest and/or forage for huckleberries. I appreciated their patience even more knowing that they're usually out climbing the toughest peaks, if you're up for more of a challenge. It's so obvious the guides truly love the land and getting folks out in it, and are super safety-conscious too. A family with really active children might me coming with next time and I feel completely confident that they'll be just fine and have the time of their lives splashing in the lakes and exploring. I've been through Glacier on my own and the views are out of this world there too, but getting out into the surrounding areas with more wildlife than people was pretty special.
My boys spent the day climbing at Kila with Chris. He did a great job keeping them safe, explaining moves, and encouraging. All the climbing gear was included. This is a professional organization all the way around. Greg was a pleasure to work with and communicated well as we planned our adventure. Super guys to visit with, also. Chris gave us tips about local places to tour and a great restaurant called Montana Coffee Traders in Columbia Falls. Much appreciated!
We did the full day trip with guide, Amy. The price was fair and the equipment/service/safety etc. were outstanding. These folks came highly recommended by the folks at RCI/Meadow Lake and it's no wonder, because they are very professional and quality folks to raft with in the area.
My family and I stayed at Whitefish Lake for a week and Greg with Glacier Adventure Guides took absolutely EXCELLENT care of us. We ranged vastly in age, abilities and interests, and among Greg and two of his excellent guides Chris and Devin they took care of everything. I wanted to do some more extreme mountainbiking (if you don't fall, your not pushing yourself to the max) and my 13 yo daughter had never been mountainbiking and was more interested in picking and eating huckleberries. Somehow, Greg and Chris worked it all out with routes and timing where everyone had a blast. All my kids NOW cannot wait to join me for mountainbiking when we get home. Before their trip with Chris, they just had no interest, but he showed them how much fun it could be. This was of course after he whipped my tush all morning long on some awesome endless climbs followed by screaming downhills into beautiful banked curves. One of the local bike shops screwed up one of the bike sizes, and Greg with Glacier Adventure came to the rescue. He completely took care of everything and again made it obvious his top concerns were 1) our safety and 2) our total enjoyment of the beautiful mountainside.Several times Devin rode ahead to get in place and get some photos for us to take home at NO charge-- just being a genuinely nice and conerned guide. We were going to also do rock climbing, but the kids had such a blast with the mountainbikes and huckleberries they wanted to do it again-- so we did!Again, CALL THESE GUYS FIRST. Whatever king of mountainbiking, hiking, rockclimbing or expedition you want, they will set it all up and make your enjoyment and safety their top priority.
The guides were super friendly and the climbing was excellent. They had different climbs for all ages. I would highly recommend them if your up for a good workout and a lot of fun.
For our first time ever rock-climbing, my friend and I spent the day with Glacier Adventure Guides and had an excellent time. Even though we booked on short notice, all details were taken care of. The guys were friendly, informative and extremely encouraging. Totally loved it and highly recommend them.
This was really not an attraction but not sure how else to label it. I meant to write this review as soon as I returned home, but almost a year later is not too bad. I know they have only got better as the time went on, so nothing changed in the negative way (I still keep in touch). My friend and I booked a backcountry ski trip with them for 3 nights and 4 days in Glacier National Park, Montana. Glacier Adventure Guides far exceeded my expectations in every way. We were both newbies to this type of adventure and they made it as easy, enjoyable and safe as they possibly could. We helped build our lodging for our three night stay, which was an igloo and so cool. This was the best as I did not have to worry about bed bugs :). The food was INCREDIBLE. I am a picky eater, so I was kind of nervous, but every meal was amazing. Who knew they could cook like that in the backcountry. I would recommend their services whether it is just for a day of snowshoeing or for a backcountry excursion. They also do trips in the other seasons as well. They were pleasant and easy to deal with from the first phone call to when they dropped us off.
