We have been going to Cooke City for years, and the owners are incredible! They will do everything to make sure you have a great time. The scenery here for the hour horse ride is breathtaking. If you have the time and money do an overnight camp out. They are AMAZING! The owners can suggest a good lake to camp at. We like to spend 2-3 nights. Those trips are the highlights of my life!

I am a Yellowstone National Park "buff" who has visited the park every summer since 1980 with the exception of the summer of '88 (the year of the big fires). That year, I visited in the winter. After having hiked much of the trail system within the park, I began to "experiment" with taking pack trips in the early '90's which enabled me to travel longer distances. In 1997, I met up with the Jackson Family and found them to be "head and shoulders" above any other guide/outfitter service that I had used. Since then, I have traveled the four corners of Yellowstone Park and beyond with the Jacksons, accompanied by my family, friends, and neighbors. The Jacksons are very knowledgeable about all area's of Yellowstone and of the Montana Beartooth Mountains. They are also great fishermen and hunters who have "local" knowledge of where to go and when to go, and will work with you whether you're an expert or a neophyte. The Jacksons also run a B&B. The rooms are larger than most that I've seen at B&B's; they're clean and comfortable and all have private baths. Liz is also, an excellent cook! I can truly say that I have spent some of the best days of my life with these folks! It's like a dream come true! Looking forward to another great trip this summer!

My friend, adult daughter and I took a four-hour horseback ride and had the time of our live. We are a crazy threesome as it is and drew our guide into the fun! The ride was through beautiful wilderness and it was nice to be on a ride where galloping is actually encouraged! It was a cold day and there was hot tea and coffee waiting in the lodge on our return and wonderful conversation with the staff. The lodge is lovely and we will likely stay there on a future visit to Yellowstone; and definitely enjoy the horseback riding again!

The folks at Skyline provide great service and an excellent value for those who want to explore the Cooke City and YNP area on horseback. I have used the service several times and cannot imagine that another outfitter can provide better service. Luke, our guide, was outstanding. As we get older, we have found that horseback is a great way to get to our out of the way fishing spots.
