The experience was better thank we imagined! It was very enjoyable and thrilling. The crew was very informative and took excellent care of the people in the rafts including us. I can totally trust the management and crew and will do it again!
My wife and I visited the fine folks at Wild West Rafting on the last day of our honeymoon in Montana. Neither of us had been white water rafting before, but the staff and our guide made us feel right at home from the get go. We had a great experience, and would definitely visit them again should we find ourselves in the area!
We had a great time. Everyone was very helpful and knowledgeable. I would highly recommend. Would go back again.
Awesome trip. Took 1/2 day trip in afternoon after morning horsey ride. The views spectacular. Our guide Thomas was better than expected in all areas and handled the raft skillfully. Guide was great with the kids especially my son who he let jump out and then picked up when the river got rougher. My son loved it. Everything ran on time. Only small negatives were the dilapidated van on the return trip. I am a professional firefighter and a bit safety concious. And our guide was for rafting trips in the Yellowstone park itself but I asked the question ( it has been in the news) and he gave an honest answer. Did not affect his tip. Would recommend highly. Afterwards go to the little hamburger stand down the street. Awesome food and discount because same owners?
The wife and I flew our grandson into Salt Lake City and picked him up to visit Yellowstone. The day before we took him back to the airport we traveled to Gardiner MT to float the Yellowstone River. My grandson is 16 years old and is an offenceive lineman at our local high school. With that being said you can iminage his size and his attitude. We put him at the front of the float to "guide" us down the river. Needless to say he got soaked. I also conferred with our guide and saw to it that Mike felt how cold the qwater was, if you know what I mean. We had a great time. The guide was very informed about the river and explained many details to us. Myself, I'll always remember that I Foated The Yellowstone River.
Excellent guides were kind and fun but safe always.Absolutely beautiful ride.Recommend going in early summer when the water is highest.
The guide was very informative and helpful for navigating the rapids. The price was appropriate. The only draw back was the road going to the trail ride on horses; the road was gravel and in very poor repair. The people at the horse ranch were very nice.
Had a great time, great guides, no worries for safety for little kids.We had two rafts and lots of kids (ages 3 and up).Highly recommend!
We took the easy float down the river vs. the whitewater rafting on a perfect day. Excellent and engaging guide, friendly staff and real value for the two hours of pleasure and relaxation. A super value to enjoy the beauty of Montana! Be sure and add this to your vacation.
I'm 63 and my friend is 67....both first time rafters. Knowing the water level is lower in early September we felt pretty confident! What a fun trip! Great to be able to purchase the CD of photos as a memento of the day! I may come back in June and ride OVER THE TOP of those big boulders when they are covered in water!
We so enjoyed this whitewater rafting trip! We choose the 10 am ride, hoping it would not be too cold. Mid way through, it warmed up nicely. We had our daughter and family with us, including two grands: 9 and 14. They said this was the highlight of our Yellowstone vacation! We bought the photo cd and t shirts! These people know how to guide and thrill you!
We had so much on a Sunday morning with Kolby as our guide! He pointed out bald eagles and osprey along the river. We were looking for a place in the country that still looked like it did when Lewis and Clark were exploring more than 200 years ago and while rafting on the Yellowstone river after getting out of Gardiner you could imagine the grandeur that the explorers saw in the west. The raft trip didn't last long enough. When we got back to Indiana and the kids were asking what was the best part of our 13 day trip they both said "Wild West White Water Rafting!"
Our posse of three took the two hour horseback tour with the cowboy cookout. It's not your typical pony ride across the pasture. We drove up to about 6600 feet and saddled up. Our guide, Trevor, made sure everyone knew how to handle their horse before setting out. The rules and waiver stated all riders must be at least six years old, and I suspect another family that was signed up for the one hour ride was fibbing about their children's ages. One little girl couldn't have been more than three or four was terrified of horses (and her parents expected her to ride alone??? Really!?), so she stayed behind after her mother reluctantly dismounted to stay with her. These guides are NOT your babysitter. Get real. So six experienced but rusty riders set out on a very exciting trail that ascended around a challenging course of steep, narrow switchbacks and hairpin turns of sheer drop off cliffs that the horses seemed to know with their eyes closed. It's a beautiful tour of the northern rim of Yellowstone that isn't for the faint of heart. Dinner was fabulous - well seasoned, tender flat iron steak, plus cast iron skillet potatoes, crisp cole slaw, and bacon laced pork n' beans. A rain shower blew in during dinner, but we were snug and dry under the covered picnic tables. Their horses are gentle, friendly, and well cared for. All the grounds and facilities are very clean. The staff was friendly, patient, and attentive. This was a bucket list day for our family.
While visiting the Yellowstone area with friends we decided that we would like to raft the Yellowstone River. However, we didn't want a big white water experience just a nice float down the river to see the sights. We picked Wild West because of the two companies we called they were the only ones who answered the phone. We lucked out. Very nice people to work with and they had just what we were looking for. Ian, our guide was awesome. He adjusted the comfort level of the ride to suit us. We decided we didn't mind a bit more water splashing in the boat and he was polite and accommodating with all of our 'dumb tourist' questions. In all it was a fantastic experience and I would highly recommend Wild West to anyone.
Great job by the Barlow's and their crew. Thank you! We will be back in June a little bit more fun. Mike took pictures and when we got back they had a cd with all of them on it for us to take home. When you show up they get you set with everything needed then off to the river perfect day spent in southwestern Montana.
