We are truly sorry you had such a terrible experience. However, we are more than confident that you were warned about the content of the show. We not only warn people via telephone call reservations, but also before the show when we open. There is NOTHING in our advertising or in the information we impart when one calls, that suggests we are either clean or of the "vaudeville" genre. We are contemporary, not old-timey, and we are very open about the fact that we are naughty, dirty, disgusting and wrong. We do that so that we don't have people attend who may be offended. I'm not sure how you didn't get the information about our show that you needed, or perhaps you just didn't really understand. We hope you come back to Virginia City. If you attend the Virginia City Players at the Opera House, you will find the old-timey Vaudevillian experience that you would probably appreciate. But please, ...we WARN EVERYONE...Explicitly...about our show...including in our advertising. You said you read the reviews. They tell the story too. Our show is not for everyone, and we really try to discourage people from coming if our humor isn't to their taste. We only want people who will enjoy our humor to visit us, not those who will be offended.
We were there as a bachelorette party 9-13-14 was a bus of 22 of us, great show! Some chic got too drunk and became a distraction. The staff cut her off the sauce, she was still kind of distracting after that. Just plain rude to the cast. Distracting to the crowd, beer was good cold, just fun all around. Fred your guitar solo was great, fun to see you play like that! I will be back
Thoroughly enjoyed our evening at the Brewery Follies in Virginia City. I think my husband was dubious at first, but really enjoyed it. Glad we weren't on the front row, though. Bought a beer for the good sport who was sitting there and became part of the cast! Best to go with the flow, I think. BTW, the H.S. Gilbert original brew was pretty good. We were there on a Wednesday night, I believe, and the cast was 4 (not counting Cooter the beaver on piano). They did a wonderful job both in the follies themselves, as well as taking orders before and mid-show. Definitely worth the price of admission and a great way to spend an evening in the VA/NV City, MT area. If you're easily insulted, don't go...there's bathroom humor, 12-year-old-boy humor and just bawdy, follies-style humor. It's funny, as long as you're not too touchy.
If you are an adult and enjoy all types of entertainment do not miss the Follies. I live in Texas and every time I get up to Montana I go to the Brewery Follies.
Had a great time at the follies this past Sunday. Everything was as expected with the funny adult humor and beer/cider. What was not expected was the stuffy, hot room with no air circulation. Otherwise, it was a fabulous show.
Have been to Virginia City many times and always went to the Virginia City Players, so this time we decided to go to the follies. A fun time. Very funny!
The cost to get in for 2 adults including tax was $32.00. Order your tickets in advance because they do fill up. When you get there they have designated seats for you but if you sit in the front row look out, you will definitely be part of the show but it's fun. We were surprised that the people that were seating us and serving our drinks also were in the show, so it was funny to see the instant personality change when they started the show. You will laugh or be embarrassed at the songs they sing so definitely go there with a sense of humor or don't go at all. They do warn you on the phone when you get your tickets. There was no nudity or the F word but everything else was open. Before the show they sell you beer. Draft beer was $3.00. They do have about a 15 min. intermission so you can buy more. Some days they have a 4 & 8:00 show but we went on Thurs. so they only had a 8:00PM show. Show lasted about 2 hrs. We had a good time! Have fun!-
A great show with great comedy in Virginia City Montana!! This show was as good as shows we watched in Branson, Missouri!!
Always entertained! This is a must for anyone visiting Virginia City. Our summer is just not the same if we haven't seen this year's show. People travel for miles just to take it in on a summer night.
Have been to the Brewery Follies twice. It is a great thing to do with out of town guests. The first time we went it was so funny we all had stomach aches when we left. The musician Fred Crase is crazy talented. The next year we went wasn't as funny for us but maybe that was just us. Still a great thing to do in the summer!
This show is hilarious. Some of the cast members are extremely talented. We found the musician Fred Crase to be an amazing talent. I often found myself focusing on his playing rather than the show. I am still recalling some of the songs in my head. A great time.
I love this show. These folks are great and are so talented. I brought my boyfriend for the first time and he had a blast! I will continue to go each year (maybe a few times a year) to see them.
This show is by far the funniest thing you will ever encounter. They have two showings-one in the afternoon and one in the evening. The one in the evening is for people 18 and older as is a bit more mature. Well, quite a bit more mature. You will laugh till you think you will wet your pant. and you might!! We have gone to them twice in one summer, as sometimes you miss a bit because the people are laughing so much, you can't quite hear it all!!
We have seen the Brewery Follies show 3 different times now. We have laughed hard and enjoyed each time. The cast has some of the same members year after year however, there are a few new cast members each summer. The acts are satires of people, places and entertainement we are all familiar with. Done with true creative wit and humor. Very talented actors and musicians in this cast. They will make you laugh for sure. Adult content NOT raunchy!!!!The Brewery itself is a historic site which yo u will be told about. The show runs from May - Mid Sept, advanced reservations prefered.Ticket prices are under $20.00 for live entertainment, well worth it.
I've been coming here for years. Went for the first time this year and was not disappointed. The show was hilarious. Mike is by far my favorite. The material is not for the faint of heart and can get a little raunchy so those with kids should take caution. The atmosphere here is awesome...located in an old brewery. It is a very intimate atmosphere and don't be surprised if you become part of the act. Plus, they serve beer!!! I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have fun and laugh your pants off.
