The pro shop was loaded with good deals. Pro had an excellent sense of humour. It was a very fair course as long as you stayed on the fairway which were very good condition. Greens were nice too. Very quick. Traps had perfect sand in them

I enjoyed my golf round here, the course in general and the greens in particular were in great shape. The staff was friendly and efficient. The sausage in the 19th hole were really tasty too. I would recommend to golfers of any level.

This course was a great challenge for a 20-odd handicapper. Off the 2nd back tees I found it had enough length to be challenging but still reachable. There is a nice variation between the style of the front and back nines, the greens and fairways are great. There are no (or very few) boring holes. I really liked this course. In addition, the staff were great. Pro shop people got me clubs and onto the course in no time despite no booking. And prices were much better than some other quality courses in the mountains. The guys who monitors how things are going out on the course was very helpful. He drove up to me, warned that I was soon to catch up to a very slow group ahead and offered to relocate me to another part of the course so I wouldn't be held up. I didn't take up the offer and just hit 2 or 3 balls per hole from then on as he suggested. Very nice service,Only criticisms are:1. They should not have let a group of 5 on the course in the first place (the slow group)2. Not the courses fault however there were a surprising number of un-filled divots all over the fairways. Maybe they could do more to insist on carrying sand buckets (eg. I hired clubs and pull cart and wasn't offered a sand bucket) and to encourage players to repair divots?Overall, loved it and can recommend.

This course suits the way I like to play. The fairways and greens are hard and fast, you are not forced to carry the ball onto the greens although there were enough tucked pins behind traps that you also had to be able to spin the ball to it get close. The greens were hard and fast, even I could read the breaks, and the putts rolled true.,Fairways are generous and the tall grass is limited making it playable for beginners as well as skilled players. We played 18 in 3 hrs 15 mins and that's without having to rush. Lots of doglegs but basically the design tells you where to go, a what you see is what you get kind of course. Brilliant. We have played Eagle Bend and Meadow Lake in the surrounding area and Northern Pines is easily my favorite. The price is quite reasonable and tee times appear to be easy to get, at least at this time of year.

Golfing at almost all of the golf courses in the Flathead Valley is great. The best public course is Northern Pines. The membership is very reasonably Priced. The personnel at this course is tops. Joe the man in charge has a great since of humor and takes good care of both members and guests. The course is the most honest course in the valley. For example, it has no holes like the 17th hole at the Buffalo Hills course. It is well maintained at the owner doesn't let the course get overplayed. During the week getting a tee time is very possible. Week-end, the tourists sometimes take up the tee times. This is not your social club site. The course is for golfers who just want to golf. The course is a links course with mounds of thick grass near fairways. The back nine is by a river with great peace and quiet.

We spend the summer in Montana and this is our golf course of choice in the Flathead Valley. We have been playing it for nearly 15 years. The front nine is along the highway (Hwy 93) and a bit noisy but not distracting. The back nine is along the Stillwater River and quite serene. Great staff. Easy to get tee times during the week. Challenging holes but fun to play and because over the years they are widening the fairways a bit and mowing the mounds it is more forgiving.Whitefish, Meadowlake and Village Greens are also good courses, but this is, for us, the most friendly and accommodating.Note: Karen Kershaw is a teaching pro there, and is amazing.

Nice to see this course changed name/ownership?? Every year we come here to golf, we didn't get very friendly service in the clubhouse --- this year was better. Nice to see they cut down a lot of the fescu grass, that was a bit annoying.

Formerly called Big Mountain, Northern Pines is a championship layout with challenging but fair holes. The views are beautiful, the course in great shape, and the staff friendly. This is THE place to play in Kalispell!

Two different nines. Course can be challenging. Great staff, great driving range. Nice coffee/sandwich shop. Staff very helpful. Easy to get on course if you don't have time. Lot's of Canadians play here for the value.
