Talk about one of Billings-Must-Dos, this "Garage Pub" is one of the few Last-Best-Beer-Places. Unpretentious, Friendly, Great Brews, Tasty Spirits, Live Music, Darts & Good Times! They have been doing the micro-brew thing longer than anyone in town and one of the first in the state. YVBC has a variety of styles to please most brew loving pallets, including long-time favorites and seasonal surprises. The staff is always friendly and will help you pick just the right beer to try. They feature live music 3 or more evenings a week, featuring highly talented, local and touring acts. Also located at the Garage is Spirit of Montana Distilling Tasting Room, featuring small-batch vodkas and gin distilled right there.
Amazing spot. Amazing beer. Amazing music. Amazing people. Amazing fun. Go, have fun. You won't regret it.
We have more and more microbreweries in Billings all the time, but this one remains my favorite. Their craft beer is the best in town. If you visit, be sure to try a pint of the Huckleweizen (Huckleberry Hefeweizen). It is my personal favorite and to die for. George and Marcy always greet you with a smile, and always make you feel welcome. It is also a fantastic music venue, and has some of the best local and touring talent you can see anywhere in Billings. They also sponsor fundraisers for great causes from time to time. "The Beer Garage" is a one-of-a-kind venue, and a place that you must see when you visit Billings. You won't regret it. LOVE THE BEER!!!
We're lucky in Billings to have the variety of small breweries and brew pubs that we have. That being said, this is one of the best places. The beer is always great and there's always something for every taste. But it's also one of the few places to regularly see live music for little or no cost at a reasonable time of evening! The staff are super friendly bust their butts with their quick service-- the Garage Pub is definitely NOT the kind of place where staff ignores you-- these guys and gals are great. Also, I really appreciate and commend them for hosting so many fundraisers for good causes, including cancer research, school programs, and many others. These are good people and their beer rocks. Thanks! Patrick K
I read on review on here by "Tuckerhayward" who gave YVBC a '0' without ever stepping foot in the door... because there was a $10 dollar cover for a cancer fundraiser. Ignore that guy. This place is a great little music venue, has great beer, is run by a friendly staff. There is likely no other brewery of its caliber that gives so much back to the community. Billings is the 10th best beer city in the country, and YVBC is in the top 3 breweries in town. Stop by and enjoy the good life with good people and good music.
8 beers sampled in 4 beer flights, and all awesome! I usually find atleast one I don't like, but I like them all.
This brewery must think it is above all others and charges $10 just to walk into the establishment, which is situated within a warehouse/garage type building with little appeal, and at 4 PM. We advised we were down to check out the breweries in Billings and not staying for the band that was playing that night but the hospitality bug has not reached this group of people. We will not be back and will not support this lack of customer service / inconsideration.
Not a large selection of food, however i tried most items on the menu and all were tasty. Chipotle burger was awesome
I like the tap room/ brew pubs in Billings. Yellowstone Valley Brewing is a pioneer in the local scene. However, if there is not music playing that night, there are far better pubs to visit. I like the people and atmosphere, but $4 a pint is robbing your customers and it seems to never be cold. You can get a 25 oz very cold beer at Jakes for $3 during their happy hour and complementary appetizers.
Excellent beer, what else can I say? If you like good beer go here, but be mindful of the three drink limit. Don't go here expecting to get drunk, go here for the great drinks and atmosphere.
Love the atmosphere at "The Garage". The beer is great and when they have music it is a great place to chill out and have a beer. A super bonus is when the Nitro Garage Hot Dog cart is there. Not your regular hotdog cart. Super sliders, salmon, brats and the famous Nitro Dog! Check it out.
There are lots of microbrews available, the food is very tasty and the atmosphere is fun.
Like other tap rooms the seating here is limited, but there is more room than Hank's.You may not want to drink all three beers if you plan on checking out the other tap rooms in the area since you are downtown. These beers are more potent than you think.Bring cash.Don Luis food goes good after some microbrews.
The beers are pretty good, but the food is overpriced and unspectacular.
Funky, great music, great beer, best place to hang on in Billings when they have music.
