You owe it to you self to stop in a have a pint or two. I was in town for a friends wedding and we came here to stater off the night and almost didn't leave. Street Fight and Pastey White Boy were our favorites that evening but there are many more to try. Don't miss this one.
Angry Hank's has the BEST BEER in town. I've come to a point where I don't drink commercial beer anymore; it's like eating at McDonald's. Microbrews are the way to go. There is a very, very big difference. Budweiser, Coors, and others simply taste like swill. The only problem that I see at Angry Hank's is that they don't serve any food. However, you can step out and bring in pizza or chinese
Awesome Taproom in the middle of downtown Billings. The converted auto garage into taproom was cool. Sat outside and enjoyed a Street Fight Imperial Red Ale. They had a nice selection to choose from but the only downside is you can only have 3 ~ or I would have stayed until they closed!!!! Awesome joint!
Stopped by this garage renovated into a brew pub! Great brew, fun place, nice people, and cheap! We had fun, and indoor and outdoor seating!
We went to the downtown taproom which is located in an old oil change building which has a lot of character! They have attached an outdoor patio for those wishing to drink their cold beer in the sun! They are very friendly and their beer is good. The number of people coming and going to fill up their growlers is a testament to that!
I went here with my wife for pre-dinner drinks. We tried three different brews. The Street Fight Red, the Dog Slobber Brown, and the Espresso Porter. I recommend both the Red and Brown - there were both mild hop flavor and easy to drink and enjoy. The Espresso Porter wasn't fit to drink. I definitely recommend this place - trying new micro brews is always fun, and this place has a nice atmosphere and a good crowd! It was perfect for a brew before dinner. The only drawback with this place (as with other micros in Billings): there is no food and you can only drink 3 beers.
Angry Hank's arose out out a Amoco gas station that I worked over 30 years ago. Tim brews amazing beer, ranging from hoppy IPAs, dark beers and over to the "other" side like wheat, honey and other seasonal and "blended" beers (who would have imagined beer & lemonade could taste so good) and then all the way to one of the region's best-tasting (and selling) beer-- Street Fight Amber. Street Fight is by and far my wife and my favorite! We try micro-brews every place we travel and ALWAYS use Angry Hank's beers as the benchmark. Nothing has ever pleased my palate as much! This is NOT a restaurant but a microbrewery. Now the place has expanded into a new "warehouse" style of building but popcorn is all that is there . . . but there are dozens of local restaurants that serve a few selections from this place. My wife & I meet our friends here at least once each month and we all keep coming back.
Angry Hank's is a fun place to go with a group of friends. The brews are all good, haven't found one I don't like yet. There is a 3 drink maximum, which is way more than enough. Love the popcorn with the hot sauce. FUN!!
We came out from New Jersey to visit family. They took us here for a few brews. My husband and I loved it! If only we had Hanks in NJ......Enjoy it, you Montanans are very lucky! Awesome Beer
Lots of "warehouse" feel in this brewpub. Did not check out the food but the barley sodas are great! Try the Belgian Wheat. All four of us loved the suds.
After a long day hike and a 250 mile truck ride in to the Montana country side. I had their Belgian wheat and their street fight beer. It could not have been better. The service was good and I have to say I will be back again...with my growler!
They took an old auto shop and opened the garage doors. They have tables and about 7 beers on tap to taste. We got a Wheat beer in a growler to go and ordered in pizza. Perfect. Stop by this place: it is really cool.
My recent stop at Angry Hank's was my second visit there. I live in Missoula and love Montana microbrews and microbreweries for their local flavor (literally and figuratively). This day, Angry Hanks disappointed. There were only 4 or so beers on tap -- which would not be a problem, except that none of the offerings were (by description, at least) the least bit hop-centric. No pale ales, no IPAs. I tried two -- an Imperial Pale Lager and a second, amber-ish ale whose name escapes me (Streetfighter, maybe?). I enjoy all sorts of beers but on a HOT summer day, I crave a HOPPY beer. It may be that the brewery just can't keep up with consumption -- that's a risk in Montana, with our back-a** laws governing microbrews. There were big blank spots on the chalkboard where, I suspect, the hoppier cousins would normally be listed. I'll go back... but this time, I was disappointed.
Decor/building was rather weird, staff were off with me for asking questions (never seen a place like this before) and I don't think I'll be back. Too many places around Billings where people are so very nice.
This microbrewery is a beer tap. I am from Texas so I have never heard of a beer tap. What is a beer tap, I asked. Well it is a microbrewery where you can take a jug and have it filled with whatever beer they make and take it home. One of the rules about bein ga beer tap place is that you can only be open for a few hours (they are only open from 4-8pm) and have a four drink limit (if your staying to drink). The microbrewery can be mistaken look for a old mechanic shop (it even has the word "Tires" is on the building). I thought the beer was pretty good, my favorite was their Belgian white which is called Anger Management. Anger managent has a bit more of a fruity taste than Blue Moon, its perfect. The place is filled with locals and the environment is casual. There is not a lot of room to sit so make sure you come early or hopefully you don't mind standing. I would come for a beer here when I am in town again.
