We are in the midst of continuing renovations. We remodeled the hotel tower rooms and the lower gaming floor including the center bar, buffet and Big Al's deli. We will be addressing the upper casino floor as well as the room sin the lodge this year. We will also continue to upgrade our slots on the gaming floor. We appreciate your comments and will use the information that you provided to improve the overall experience for our guests at Mountaineer. I was happy to hear that you enjoyed the room and the food during your visit but was disappointed to hear about your gaming experience. I forwarded your comments to our slot director and he had the following response:We want to thank you for taking the time to share your opinions about your visit. We strive to provide you with the best possible service and product, and when you feel that it fails to meet your expectations, it’s important for us to know. We take great pride in our facility and have made numerous improvements over the last year. We’ve made extensive updates to the appearance of the facility with many more planned. In fact, the gaming room you mention playing in was one of the first gaming rooms built at our property in the mid 90’s. That area of our casino will be getting remodeled during the first qtr of 2015 with new carpet, slot chairs, a new ceiling, and a new bar and entertainment area.As far as tight machines and/or games not paying off, it’s a fact that this is the number one complaint every casino receives. It is very important to Mountaineer that our guest receive the time on device in which they are pursuing or so desire. Unfortunately, there are times whereas that does not happen and the guest goes away unhappy and losing (that is not our intent at all). The truth of the matter is Mountaineer is very competitive in our market. We have, on average, over 40 jackpots each day.We apologize about the cigarette smoke. Being largely a smoking facility we realize smoke can become an issue and that's why we invested in upgrading our HVAC and ventilation to better assist with it. We also installed several commercial grade smoke eaters throughout the property. It would be worth mentioning that we also have a non-smoking slot area for our guests.We also have several variations of video poker on both our Game Kings and our Winner’s Choice machines you mention. The “suggested hold” feature on the games you played was actually a state lottery requirement when those machines were purchased. That has since been amended, however the feature can’t be disabled on those machines. Players can still choose how they prefer to play as the “hold” feature is only suggested.Again, we apologize that we failed to meet your expectations but we’re grateful for you giving us the opportunity to assist you. We appreciate the feedback and for you taking the time to post. We recently completed the tower room renovations and will be starting the lodge rooms on September 22. If you require any special handicapped accessibility, the tower is where you need to be as the lodge does not have an elevator. We were very busy on labor day weekend but I don't think there was ever a time when our valet was closed because we were full. Again, we appreciate the feedback and I will make sure that I share your comments to all department managers.
