As far as trails go, this is more of a bike path than a trail. Fairly flat, this bike path undulates around noisy route 9, the highway that no one drives under 80 mph. It is long, not scenic at all, and easy. Its a great place for someone wanting to walk from here to well, over there- without seeing anything of note or worth. Boring. Difficulty- relatively easy.
Good paved parking at several convenient points along trail. Although it was snowy, the quiet was very peaceful. The new benches and signs are a nice addition.
Was going to walk some of the trail and find a few geocaches with my daughter today.I like that the trail is paved and the information markers along the trail. We didn't get to far until the rain came and changed our plans for the day.I will walk some more of the trail next time I am in town.
I went here with my dad today to geocache. This was a nice trail, there are lots of informative stopping points along the way.
Easy to moderate. Popular with locals for bicycling, hiking, running. Good parking, nice scenery, little shade, no toilets; safety issues with signage, safety paint, crossings and spots where 'trail' is actually street. This paved trail is separated from the hwy, running about 11 miles along WV Rt 9. One trailhead is on the outskirts of Martinsburg - just east of Grapevine Rd; the other is on the outskirts of Ranson at Curry Rd. Value of this trail will greatly increase when extended into Martinsburg and Harpers Ferry.
