elk springs fly shop

We arrived at the stream, ready to fish for the elusive rainbow, but stopped first in the lodge and fly shop. The staff & guides were personable, competent and most willing to help. On the lower level was a comfortable lodge with great food and a comfy area to sit and read while my husband fished. There was free WiFi, too, which I appreciated since it is sometimes difficult to get a signal for iPad in the hills of WV!! The grounds outside were immaculate and beautiful to walk around and view those who were fishing. I look forward to going back and staying in one of the cabins.

This is an impressive shop by most any standard. Wide selection of tackle, rods, and gear. The fly selection is most appropriate for "east of the Mississippi," but that's just where you are! This shop would rival many in much larger and more substantial areas of the country. Pricing seemed very reasonable considering the isolated nature of the situation. Clearly a reasonable place to purchase something you forgot, you need or you'd like to splurge on, what the heck, "it's vacation."

Elk Springs has everything to get you onto the river and get you into fish. Top notch service and knowledge that you will not find any where else. Years of local experience on the river and with the local hatches. They have all the gear you need or supplies for you to tie up your own Elk River candy!

They have a huge selection of trout flies. Their clothing is very expensive, but normal for a tourist location I guess.

Very knowledgeable staff. Most of the flies were tied by their very own staff (fly fishing experts).

Well stocked, experienced staff & very helpful & friendly. Great selection of merchandise & reasonable prices.

I just spent a Thursday - Sunday at Elk Springs. This is my 3rd year to the resort and each year the place really impresses. If you wanna fly fish or just get away from it all this is the place you want to go!
