Friendly staff full of lots of helpful suggestions on how to enjoy your time in this beautiful area. Going canoeing on the Trough is something I will not forget. Saw eagles, deer, big fish, and geese. May have heard a bear up on the hill in the dense woods. Or maybe it was big foot. Had a great day on the river.

Great shuttle service and ability to rent if you need kayaks and/or canoes. Fabulous way to spend the day with friends. The scenery is incredible!! Don't go after July 1 - the water is too low.

Really enjoyed our family canoe trip with the Trough General Store outfitters. Very friendly service and good experience overall. Did the seven mile trip in a kayak and canoe on a very rainy day but had fun anyway...saw some eagles and beautiful scenery. Would highly recommend this company for a fun, relaxed, stress-free adventure. It was my first time canoeing on a river but my family was more experienced. We all had a fun and safe day in the great outdoors. Don't miss this hidden gem for a great river experience!

My husband and I were recently camping in Romney, WV with friends and decided to try a canoe trip. The Trough General Store was a few miles from the campground. The owners and staff were absolutely amazing and so very nice!! They offer a great opportunity and the equipment needed to canoe down the Shenandoah water shed and really enjoy serenity! They offer various lengths of mileage for canoe trips. Our next trip will be longer than the one taken this weekend!
