Call ahead for the schedule they have enjoyable and educational activities during the year. My sister-in-law and I thoroughly enjoyed tour due to knowledgeable tour guides who enjoyed their jobs of bringing history alive. The bathrooms for visitors were clean and modern.

kent is a very nice site, and easy to find. the tour was interesting and given by very nice ladies, who are well informed. the plantation house and various buildings and gardens are on the acerage.they are not open on sundays and it seemed I was always through there on that day, so had been unable to tour, until this trip. I would highly recommend the site.

Went on this tour with my daughter and it was awesome, loved the main house and enjoyed the outside your as well. The location was convenient and really enjoyed the tour guides stories and personal touch. I really want to go to Sugar Day the 2nd Saturday in November.

Kent House has a great herb day twice a year. You had better get there early, because they tend to sell out of many of the herbs.

Enjoyed the visit and tour. We took a group tour on a Saturday. There are 10 of us, all archaeologists. We are doing an archaeological project here in Alexandria, and it is always interesting and educational exploring different historical and archaeological areas.

My husband and I visited this plantation almost a year ago. I thought the tour was very good and it's a very reasonable price. Unlike Oak Alley Plantation near New Orleans, who charge $20 per person for a 30 minute tour which is overcrowded and you have to wait nearly two hours in line because of bus tours. We were the only ones on the tour, which was nice. I didn't feel rushed and we were able to ask questions. The thing I like the most about this tour is that the tour guides actually show you how the plantation was run whereas Oak Alley basically talked about the people that owned the plantation. This tour is much more informational than that one. We have company coming from overseas in April and I'll be taking them here instead of there.

The ladies that conducted this tour are fabulous they did not just spout out memorized tour guide stuff and shuttle you along like a lot of guides do. It was a very back and forth conversation about historical information they knew and information I knew along with my wife we had the best time kind wish we could have stayed longer. Hands down one of the most recommendable experiences I had visiting Louisiana.

Glendine and George were fantastic! I hope to visit Kent Plantation again soon. Our tour group enjoyed the visit.

I went to here to take a tour during the afternoon. It was well worth the addmission price of $8.00 that day. I was the only person there for a tour. A nice lady gave me the tour of the home along with is history. Sheshowed me different pieces of antique furniture in the home and whatits purpose was. After touring the home a gentleman gave me a tour ofthe other buildings on the plantation along with their history. He gave mea great education how they make brown sugar in the huge vats. He wassuper knowledgable about the buildings and their purpose. Touring theKent Planation House and grounds really made me appreciate all the conviencences we have in todays times as well as made me wonder how people survived living the way they lived in that time era. I was therefor a while and thoroughly enjoyed it learning some history. I recomendanyone that likes history take time to visit. Even the way the cooking was done was facinating to me.

My husband and I loved this plantation. We were on the first tour of the day and received the efforts of two lovely ladies who were very knowledgeable about the house and grounds. It is well worth the price and the time (about 1.5 hours). We have been to lots of southern plantations through the years and this one really stands out. Don't miss it!

reenactments are interesting, usually authentic and fact filled. volunteers in costumes for theme, etc.

I love to tour places like this, and my husband and I got to see some things without doing the tour. I loved the visitor center, which we browsed in for awhile. In my opinion, the tour cost was too much and they didn't let us wander around without a guide, so we didn't get to do it this time,

My wife and I truly enjoyed the tour. The docent was personable and knowledgeable. The plantation itself was not too big, just a good size to spend about 90 minutes. Highly recommend this place to anyone.

I thoroughly enjoy taking visitors to Kent Plantation House. It provides a well preserved and cared for representation of life in that period of Louisiana history. The docents conducting tours are well educated and informative. There are times during the year when special events are held with syrup making and cooking being demonstrated.

This is an historical little gem in Alexandria and shouldn't be missed on a trip to this city. There is something always going on that will interest both adults and children from Herb Day to Bug Day.
