Nice small zoo that is well taken care of. Kids will love it. The animals are beautiful. Again not a big zoo but run with a lot of love and care. Nice little day trip for the whole family.
We took our grandson for the first time. The zoo was run down looking on the outside but I thought maybe that it would better once inside. There wasn't enough signs telling you were things were but that was the least of the concerns because at over half of the enclosures, there were not any animal at all. And then the areas that did have animals, there would only be one lonely animal in the enclosure. There was areas that needed to be cleaned from weeds and stuff. Once inside the zoo you never seen an employee. And to top it off it cost 11.25 a person to get in. Which was not worth it. We drove 2 hrs to get there and only stayed 1 hr because it was terrible.I wouldn't recommend it to anyone
It was a lot bigger than I expected. Done up nice for Christmas. Not much in the way of food, best to pack your own lunch. Plenty of animals to see and some to feed and pet.
From the time you drive up into the potted gravel parking lot, and pay the extra high entrance fee to the one person working the whole entrance area, you will start wondering. There is a old wore out train for the kids, and some of the animals look like they are in distress. Zoo definitely needs some attention, expansion, and a upgrade soon. Sorry...
monkeys, zebra, parrots, typical collection but still fun to see. petting zoo for kids. 5-minute train ride around the park. good way to entertain the children and see some animals for 2 hours. zoo is clean, nice mixture of open and cage exhibits, human and animal food available.
I'm not sure if I arrived at feeding time, but the animals were really engaged and seemed interested in visitors. It was a nice visit.
What a treat to stroll through the park with all the lights, worth the trip and be sure to take the train ride as this can be a great way to see some of the animals not in a small in-closer Give yourself plenty of time and enjoy
Fun times! Even for the size of the zoo it honestly was a great little trip! The animal areas were more than adequate and the animals seemed happy. Some zoos you go to you feel bad for the animals this was not one of them :)
I am currently sitting here at your establishment, and I have to say how disappointed my family and I are! For the price you pay to get in, I expect to see what this establishment had to offer. Not much I can assure you! The thousand of banana spiders were more entertaining than the lack of animals and poor quality of a train ride that cost us 24 bucks was definitely not worth the experience of a handful of goats with grass as tall as the train. I can write more on this experience but I'd have a book of negative reviews. I am definitely not bringing my children back to this establishment!
This zoo is the worst ZOO EVER!!! Just went this morning. H O R R I B L E do not go and waste money and time. Paid $22.50 to get in. the animals looked sick. not too many there. the setting was a mess. the walk ways were made of wood, some were broken and spaced out, slippery, spider webs everywhere. got on the train. H O R R I B L E!!! paid an additional 3 dollars each... it does not go through even half of the ZOO! Not anybody was there to assist us during our tour, to answer questions or just give us information! Highly dissatisfied. I usually look at reviews for EVERYTHING; but this time I failed. My love really wanted to celebrate her birthday and go to a zoo and this one is POO! Needs to be SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY! It should be illegal to have such a horrible kept place of business! Somebody needs to be fired!! The WORST ZOO EVER! Don't go. You'll be SORRY!
We drove 2 hours with two toddlers to take them to the zoo. They are now screaming in the car because when we got here they said they decided to close because nobody was coming in. No wonder if you close because guests take too long to drive there! Would I recommend this zoo? Definitely not!! Would I come back again? Absolutely not!Close this so called business down completely!!
This review is honest and from my VERY RECENT experience on this past Saturday July 5, 2014. My family which consisted of 3 adults and 1 child visited this poorly maintained zoo. It wasn't actually a zoo more like a farm. The only time the zookeepers and/or employees spoke to you is when they were asking for money. There were two young women riding back and forth on a golf court doing absolutely nothing, practically had visitors getting over so they can zoom by. We paid $11 bucks a piece to enter which is no problem if this was an actual zoo. This $11 bucks obviously only included farm animals with 1 giraffe, 2 tigers, 1 cheetah, plenty of peacocks and parrots. With additional $3 per person you can ride a train and see a few zebras, camels, 2 more monkeys and two other animals. There were 2 camels sitting inside a little shack and they were very ill looking and 1 outside looking as if it would drop in any moment. These animals are poorly kept. I honestly felt like calling someone to come and see about these animals. We passed one exhibit that didn't have an animal in it and I promise it seemed as if the animal had died and the fur was still laying on the ground as if it laid their and withered away. Mind you can't hear the conductor while your traveling. I have read the other reviews and can honestly say they are misleading and I'm questioning their authenticity. This zoo is horrible. There are NO ELEPHANTS AND NOT ONE SINGLE LION. Maybe it's good that they aren't there because they would be poorly fed and kept too.
This is a small-town zoo, good for your child's first zoo visit. Plan to go when the weather is nice. The price is pretty steep for a zoo. I think it was $11 or $12 per person? $7.50 for kids. They have giraffes, llamas, a few farm animals in a petting zoo, birds, a pygmy hippo, reptiles, lemurs, a black panther, a lion, a white tiger, emus, pygmy marmosets, and alligators. There is a playground near the train (costs a few bucks to ride the train but is worth it). The description says '10 miles south of New Orleans' but this zoo is in Broussard, LA, near Lafayette, about 140 miles west of NOLA (2 hour drive). But NOLA has their own zoo and aquarium. They recently changed the name from 'Zoo of Acadiana' to 'Zoosiana.'Anyway, this is a decent zoo.
Very few animals, very small, grass over grown. The cost is $11, they should increase the ticket price and up grade the zoo. Very disappointing.
$30 for 2 adults and a child for the sorriest exhibit of a zoo I have EVER experienced! All the animals were far from exotic! A bunch of birds and small monkeys. 1 white tiger that looked like it weighed 90lbs. A sorry excuse for a aquarium, the place looked like it hadn't been cleaned, the structure was falling apart and was very dangerous! Please do NOT waste your time nor money! Please! The owner of this establishment need to sell it to someone who know how to operate and exhibit a real live zoo!
