lake charles visitor center

RV's Not welcomed!!! We use to pull up in my RV and park in their RV par, if you call it that. It is now closed.We tried to park in the Golden Nuggets parking lot and was told and have the paper they left on the window, RV's are not welcomed!Was told to go to L'Auberge duclac and the minute we pulled in security told us we need to leave.We use to gamble here and go for the buffet and entertainment. NOT ANYMORE!!!!.

Staff not very friendly, I asked for water and was told there was a water fountain. Asked us to sign book but did not. Ask if we needed anything or any information. They could of been more pleasant. The bathrooms were clean and that is why we have stopped a few times going and returning to Houston and Metairie. Would love to have a job like that, not much to do it seems, and could be more helpful. A bottled water would be nice especially after doing what was asked by us , signing the book. No conversation after that, no pointing out the vending machines so we could , at least buy water. Who,s paying these people? They are not selling the city of lake Charles to visitors. At least put up a sign off i10 to point out the place!

We are on an extended trip to Lake Charles. I called in to the visitor centre just to collect some leaflets. On entering the lady working there immediately came over to ask how I was and if I needed help. She recommended many restaurants and place to visit and so far they have all been excellent.

One stop for all kinds of information to complete your adventures in Louisiana! Besides the gift shop and coffee, there was a Mardi Gras display. Don'f forget to say hello to the alligators!

Ok, so the staff aren't really that knowledgeable, they just point you in the direction of some leaflets if you ask about stuff. They are helpful, like they gave us the wifi password when we were stuck and they called somewhere for us as well, but it's rubbish otherwise. You can find everything online! The building is nice though, nice bathrooms, air conditioning. Though I wouldn't recommend trying to get there without a car, you have to walk down the highway!

Stopped in for directions and received some great assistance and instruction. Lots of brochures and other information available. Worth a stop in. They even have alligators out back, if you haven't been able to find any.

Stopped here to get info about the Historical Districts of Lake Charles. Easy to get from I-10. Helpful people with plenty of good brochure/maps. It covers all of the surrounding area,too.

Beside the usual (and very good) brochures, they have an app for iPhone to guide you along the Creole trail. Well done, still to be improved. Loading is very slow (server problem?), and there is apparently not yet a Android version. But it is available in 4 languages, which is a great plus.

Super friendly staff, great display of Mardi Gras floats from kids from area schools, really nice displays of local art and free coffee and a free telescope to look across the water. Really nice!

This Visitor Center is very nice. The staff we spoke with was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. Based on her recommendations, we had a very nice time exploring Lake Charles and eating at some of the local mom and pop shops. The center itself is very nice and clean.

Very Nice Visitors Center. Many brochures, Nice Gift shop, with really good prices. You even get a free calendar. There are also some fenced in gators too your left, many photo ops here. If your in the area come here first.

A great place to start off your vacation in the Lake Charles area as the staff are extremely knowledgeable about the area.

Wonderful staff, the building was spotless except for a few cigarette butts around door, but that's due to tourist! Beautifully landscape & scenic location with access to walking on the beach.

I think this is now in a new building about .3 of a mile closer than where my brand new sat nav says it is. ooops. The building is good and the advice was great, restrooms were clean.

You must visit this place when you are in lake charles. it is a very good experience, you do not win much but still have a great time
