Don't miss this stop in Decatur located on Bank Street along with many other attractions to include, dining, antiques, shopping and the Old Bank. The museum contains an excellent collection of Civil War artifacts. The curator is extremely well versed in all the local battle history and is a great story teller. You won't be disappointed.
Quite a nice little collection of Civil War weapons and artifacts. The amazing thing is that one person collected it. We enjoyed just looking around.
Very nice owner/docent. Lots of guns, swords, ammunition and pictures. Plan on about an hour. Best was the original pictures of generals--both north and south.
If you love War Between the States relics and artifacts then you''ll be in 7th Heaven! This private collection is better than many national parks in terms of quality and quantity. Not to be missed!
An amazing collection of civil war memorabilia. Collection dominated by wonderful old firearms. Would take days to adequately study and appreciate the wonderful history represented by this collection. Some items are very likely the only remainling examples. I feel this collection is a national treasure. Thank you gentlemen for your efforts to collect and preserve these items for posterity.
Rare Civil War relics. The largest privately owned civil war collection in the USA. Mostly rifles and pistols, in amazingly good condition. These appear to have been lovingly preserved. The museum also has some photographs, swords, cannon, ammunition, uniforms, and at least one drum. Items are identified by placards. Admission is about $5. See website. Civil war books are available next door at Parham's Civil War Relics and Memorabilia. Museum entrance is through Parham's. I did not see a restroom, but these are available elsewhere, e.g., at The Tennessee Valley Pecan Company store a couple of doors down.
