Not that big, but very interesting and I am told that future prospects mean bigger building and expansion. It was informative and had nice trinkets for sell and the lady at counter was friendly and helpful . All in all a very pleasant experience.

We took our Girl Scout Troop there, and it was really informative!! And the Lady made it "Fun" so kept the Girl's interested!! My two Girl's still mention thing's that they saw there and it's been a year since we went!!

We dropped teenager off at the waterpark and we wet here and to the wildlife center. Both were very enjoyable. This is free and it has a lot of things in a small area. Its like a museum of stuff. We didn't take the kids but they would have loved it. (That's what they get for staying at the water park lol). Please don't miss this place. It doesn't take long but it has almost an impossible amount of stuff in such a small area. 1 warning- they are closed for lunch from 12 to 1, so work your schedule around that, Please.

We were entertaining our three grandchildren from Wisconsin and always take people to Cook's Museum when they visit. One never tires of it because it is so well done. Where do you find a great place to go to.......not only that, but it's FREE. One of the staff was walking around with a corn snake and letting people hold it and pet it. That was pretty neat. There were many hands-on exhibits, bugs, animals, rocks....it pretty much has everything. First class museum. Don't miss it when in the area. You will love it.

Our 32 and 29 year old sons visited Cook's Museum once a week when children. They learned their initial love for nature, animals, and science from Cook's. Now their children are enjoying Cook's. Free and so wonderful!!

Found this place on TripAdvisor and glad we did. We have an 11 year an a 15 year and they both really enjoyed their time here. The lady at the counter explained that we could go through and look all by ourselves. There is a lot to see with a lot of information. And it's free.

Cook's Natural Science Museum does have insects, but there is so much more. Our five year old grandson loves to go every time he comes to visit. There are many animals, birds and reptiles placed in their natural habitats for your viewing. These are the stuffed kind. There are fish, snakes, a tarantula, and fish in tanks that are real. Beautiful gemstones and shells are displayed amazingly. You can even touch and try to pick up a real moon rock. The museum has plans to relocate and expand in the near future, so it will be even bigger and better. It is easily accessible. All ages will love it.

I have heard of this place for years but finally got the chance to go and tour their museum. It was fabulous. You would never think about the wild things you see in this museum. It is a must.

This is a relatively small museum but it is packed with examples and knowledge. Numerous specimens on display along with a little information on each. Some interactive displays including a meteorite you can actually pick up. A very nice gift area with reasonable prices. Admission is free, open every day but only 2-5 on Sundays. It took us about an hour to go through, would be good for smaller kids with short attention spans.

Located in Decatur, AL, just West of I-65 on the Tennessee river you will find one of the most complete Entomology collections as well as other critters that call Alabama home. Great stop for a day trip to Decatur or a break from I-65 driving.

This is a small museum, but there is so much to see! I've lived in AL my whole life, but had never been here before. This would have been a great place for school field trips! There are so many exhibits to see! The animals are all very well preserved and to my relief, had all died of natural causes. There are so many things to see: Animals, insects, gemstones and many others. I definitely recommend this museum!

This small museum has good displays showing local animals, bugs, rocks, and other items of interest. The bug collections are extensive. This museum could be especially valuable on a day when the weather prevents outdoor activities.. Probably the best feature is that it is free; in essence it's a gift to the community from Cooks Pest Control. School groups, scout troops, and other youth organizations often visit. This museum is centrally located in Decatur and has free parking. It is all on one level, with just a few steps at the entrance.
