I love the sidewalks and bird watching at Diebert. They have educational posts along the routes as well. Do not forget to feed the turtles in the pond!
play ground for kids as you pull in.easy walking paths.most of it is in open area, and has a wonderful pond in center.
Really nice walking trails. Kids playground is excellent. Good for dog walking. Lots of benches and pavilions to stop and enjoy the ponds, geese...
First I will say I can't grade the play ground area. I don't have kids with me when I go here. I mainly go to walk either before or after work. I really love this place. It's so relaxing. I had not gone for awhile, but returned last week. I had forgotten how big of an area it is. The place is well kept. Grass cut, trash taken care of. Couldn't ask for a better place to go walking in Florence. I'm sure it's a great place for picnics, some football playing, and etc. too. I love that the walk isn't just flat. It changes a lot and it really works you out. Plus you can change up your walk with some many different routes to take.
This is a great park for adults and children. It has a very large walking trail along with a big pond with geese, fish, frogs, turtles and more. The playground is well maintained and fun for all ages. Great place to visit or have a birthday party.
While visiting Florence we stopped at Deibert Park. It is full of widely paved walking trails that have numerous paths throughout the large park which includes an abundance of large shade trees and plenty of places to rest. There are numerous interpretive & educational areas, ponds complete with fish and turtles, benches, assessible docks, and on the water gazebos, etc. The public restroom was very clean and also assessible. They also have a beautiful veteran memorial located at the main entrance. We were very impressed by the number of people who were visiting the park just for the walking paths. It is truly a beautifully designed and well maintained park with a wonderful storied history that dates back to 1875, as part of a large plantation.
Two big ponds and an epic playground. This park has it all. The walking trails are also great. They wind around the ponds and meander through a wooded area. The ponds are filled with fish, turtles, frogs, and dragonflies. The woodland is home to squirrels, rabbits, and many birds. We have even seen an owl. Seasonally, Canada Geese visit the park.
Lots of space and trails. Intially seemed to be open area with not much in the way of character. However the fields lead into mature trees and nature kiosks which provide shade on those sunny days.
I love the paths and scenery when I walk here, next time I will bring my dog!! There are many options as to how much you want to exercise, go try it out!
If you are looking for a great place to walk, this park is the answer. Choose from several different low courses or high courses but regardless the road you take, you will bask in the beauty of this park.
Cool duck pond and friendly walking trail. The absolutely best feature is the Childrens Museum. Lots of information and also creative materials for their use.
If exercise is your game, a brisk walk around the trails of Diebert Park will do it for you. Benches are placed along the trails for those who wish to just stop and take in the different views of the partk. A small lake with a deck also gives weary walkers a chance to just sit and watch the birds, fish and traffic. For those with children, playground equipment galore and the Children's Museum nearby. Check for hours of operation.
This is a real gem for Florence. It is a wonderful place to walk, ride bikes, fly a kite, or feed the fish from the gazebo. Feel free to take your dog too! And there is a wonderful shelter and playground for all ages.
Deibert Park is located conveniently within the city. The park was formerly a horse farm & has many acres of rolling hills now covered with paved walking trails. There are 3 ponds in the park, a large gazebo, a playground & restroom facilities. For dog walkers, there are "poop bag" dispensers at various points along the trails. On windy days, there are plenty of open spaces for flying kites. This is a lovely park for all ages!
The pond and walking/running trails are peaceful and well kept. Lots of shade and parking. The playground areas are nice as well, there is a smaller play set for the little kids and a much larger play set for big kids. I wish that they had separated them from each other because it seems the little kids often want to play on the bigger set which is not designed with little kids in mind and can make any parent nervous... Also, there are several of the large plastic swings with overhead restraint safety restraints but the latches seem to always be broken defeating the safety of them.
