the squashed grape

My boyfriend and I attended a French wine tasting at the Squashed Grape last Friday. We paid $10 a person and enjoyed five different types of wines. The wine expert that came to discuss all of the wines with us was from France and did a wonderful job highlighting each wine, explaining a bit about where the wine was from, and sharing personal stories about each of the winemakers. We sampled a champagne, two white wines, and two red wines. Throughout our wine tasting, we enjoyed various French tarts, quiches, pastries, and cakes that were homemade in the kitchen. I can't say enough about how great the food was. My compliments to the chef! My boyfriend especially enjoyed an open faced ham and Swiss sandwich on a homemade croissant. I loved the homemade almond and pistachio cakes that we enjoyed for dessert - topped with caramelized apples. We were SO impressed by the event that was put on, and we will most certainly be back!

This place is so cool, not your everyday grocery store wines. Very reasonable and personal attention given to your questions about that perfect wine for your meal. Also great wine tasting on most Wednesday nights. Wife and I love this place.
