We have four small children, so when it rains, it pours! Whatcha gonna do? Bowl! Arcade! Bar!This bowling alley saved our rainy day. We were there well over 2 hours. Bowling was great and the arcade is just the right size with good games. We purchased a deal that included bowling/shoes, pizza/soft drink pitcher and $5 gift card per bowler for arcade. It was perfect! The staff was so friendly and accommodating. My son left his stuffed animal and I made a quick phone call to reach a friendly voice saying she found it and was holding it at the counter. Great place!
My family visited The Gulf Bowl yesterday. The facility was nice. We enjoyed bowling, however after bowling I wanted to pay see ball. The lane I was using was not working and I had already paid for a game. I alerted the guy at the counter whom looked at me and walked off. I was astonished by this behavior and left the facility right away.
I am not one for arcades, but my kids love them. I usually find them to be dark and loud. So, not only was the arcade great (I even enjoyed the basketball game & skee ball!), but the food in the cafe/bar was fantastic! The kids loved the laser tag, and all of us had fun bowling. The only reason I didn't give this place a 5 rating is because it got expensive fast! If you don't mind dropping some dough, you and your kids will have a blast!
If you like to bowl or just get hungery this is a fun place to go. Had a great burger and I do mean great. I have also had there seafood. Shrimp are great. They also have an arcade with games.
nice place to take the family for a night out, the food was good, great for kids, there so much for them to do. good place for a cold night to have fun.
Over the Thanksgiving break, we spent two nights entertaining our families here without spending too much dough. Night one, we bowled by renting a lane for an hour. There were 7 of us and three needed to rent shoes. Because this Tuesday night had a special of half price after 5, then we spend less than $25 for all seven of us to bowl. The next night was unlimited laser tag for $12 from 5-midnight. Our two youngest kids played for 3 hours and had a blast. The two adults enjoyed a meal in the eatery. The meal was $10.99 but the kids got a $10 card to play video games. In turn, the meal was only $.99. The staff went above and beyond the level of expected service. I will be back. I felt I totally got my money's worth!!
Best bowling alley and for an hour of bowling and shoe rentals it was very cheep. smoke free very nice staff a+
Bowling is a blast here. The packages are very reasonable. Food was okay but a little pricey. The drinks seems to be a little pricey also but if you want to go for just bowling, you will thoroughly enjoy it.
We saw a commercial for this place and decided to give it a shot after we found out they had an All You Can Play Laser Tag special for $12. Totally worth it! We tried the Dine and Play option at The Captain's Choice and got a $10 arcade game card with it, which means our actual food was only 99 cents. Was probably the best club sandwich I've ever had. Husband got the catfish and fries, and said it was very good. Prices on the bowling and laser tag were a bit pricey, but were very affordable if you went during a special. We will definitely be going there again.
I`m always looking for things to do off the beaten path..Places that are not so heavily advertised..This is because I find many of those places to be crowded and prices too high for what U get..I don`t like crowds very much..So once again on the 2nd day of riptides where we couldn`t get in the water (hubbie,me, and our 16 year old son) I said let`s go check out the railroad museum then go here..We were hungry but not expecting much except standard food but we were surprised to see seafood and dishes U would see in fancier restaurants..We got a sampler platter of corn friiters, vegeatable sticks(OMG I haven`t had them in so long) ,fried mushrooms, stuffed jalepenos (but it is not cheese more of a seafood/crab filling) fried chicken breast(so huge) Everything was good except hubbie was expecting cheese stuffed jalepnos..cost 19.99. Hubbie and I got a platter with hushpuppes, fried oysters, litle crab claws, 2 pieces of fried tilapia, bowl of seafood gumbo, and lots of butterfly fried shrimp. So much food we couldn`t eat it all honestly..cost 22 + tax..Is it pricey..Heck everything is around here but what I didn`t have to worry about was crowds and I got what I paid for..My 16 year old son got a tilapia plate with fries ..He very rarely eats fish but he did eat some of this (couldn`t eat it all though) Now to the bowling: shoe rentals 3 dollars and we paid by the game which we mistakenly picked 3 games..(for a newbie who hasn`t bowled in like forever just get 2-believe me your arms will be exhausted halfway in the 2nd game) 2 adults one 16 year old 3 games 44 .15 ..It was fun :) It wasn`t all that crowded..hopefully there are no church groups with kiddies in there(there was some in there but by the time we finished eating they were gone) which was very good cause they were little torndoes and loud..we had a pleasant time, employee was friendly..I have nothing but excellent things to say about this place and when I come back to orange beach I will probably come again :)
We went here with our three year old son on a day too cold to do anything outside. The place had a fun atmosphere. The bowling lanes could be programmed to use bumpers for our son but not for adults. They also have ramps for little bowlers. The bumpers didn't extend long enough so most of my sons balls ended in the gutter. The staff was nice to move us when our lane stopped working. Shoe rentals were $3 and they had shoes small enough for toddlers. You can rent a lane by the hour or pay per game.
This place is very family friendly. Helpful enjoyment from the smallest child to the older adult. The four year old of our company fulfilled her longing to bowl with the special equipment provided. The staff were so helpful and very kind. The staff also seemed to keep a good watch on any needs you might have. The bowling alley is an updated facility. Realize been a long time since I have bowled but equipment and ease of keeping score sure beats the days of the past. There is an arcade, pool table and food for purchase. There are also times they turn the lighting down and the place glows. Really neat. We did not eat there. Our party ranged from 66-4. All had a good time. If you live near this bowling alley, check out all that is offered from leagues to kids/family specials.
The ranch fries are so good!!! The bowling alley is big and has a lot of different stuff ( pool, arcade games, and karaoke on some nights)
After multiple families made plans to visit and watch a sporting event and received commitments from two different employees the event would be on at least some of the 20 televisions, the Gulf Bowl decided not to fulfil Thier commitment to my and other families. This was a huge disappointment. We will not visit here again. If you want to catch your favorite team game go elsewhere. You can't count on Gulf Bowl.
Nice gameroom area, good clean lanes, and the food is outstanding to be in a bowling center. Its a nice break from the heat also.
