We played on a Sunday and every, I mean every pin was at the edge of the green with not one of them in the center, just either front or back and usually on a little peninsula by itself. I am a 10 and my son is a 5 and we drove the ball extremely well but the course will just eat you up. Most all greens are elevated with a bunker in the front. Can't even think of running anything up. We pulled more sand wedges out around the greens than we could count. Greens roll great but are very undulating with sometimes 3 or 4 different plateaus. The Sherling however is one of the best nines you could find anywhere. It rivals the Judge for beauty, difficulty and great layout. May be the best 9 on the Trail. Canyon is up and down, difficult the first time but we enjoyed it.Par 3 course was great. Layed out well, some holes on the lake, really nice. We played 54 holes of golf in one day here, and left wanting to come back and score better the next time. It is demanding golf, throw your handicap away and try to hit a good shot that won't penalize yourself.

This course had the most scenic 9 holes on the entire Robert Trent Jones trail. The course is well maintained, challenging and gorgeous.

Meeting up with two ol' buddies for a little golf vacation. Played Prattville on the R.T.J. golf trail the day before. Great experience, Cambrian Ridge is a beautiful, extremely well maintained course and facility. For us playing flat courses this one was challenging but fair and very scenic. The entire Staff, Golf & Restaurant treated us like we were members of a very upscale private country club. All agreed we will do it again but in the spring or fall when it is just a little cooler.

We have played most of the RTJ courses in Alabama. The Cambrian Ridge courses were very difficult. Sand traps placed where the average golfer will find them. The greens were undulating to the extreme as well as being odd shapes and almost all elevated. We have enjoyed many of the other Trail courses...we couldn't wait to be done with Cambrian ridge.

I walked though few do. The course is up and down and around multiple lakes: a challenge and pleasing to the eye.

Good food. My husband loves to golf here and we sometimes grab lunch. We always have great service and the food is good.

We played this Cambrian Ridge on the way to Gulf Shores for a family reunion. The beautiful course on the Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail is gorgeous and the scenery definitely has a "wow" factor. We played the Sherling and Canyon courses and both were very challenging. Would highly recommend it for seasoned golfers.

We played seven of the Trail courses in a week and this one is our least favorite. It was our first course and I will tell you we were disappointed thinking they were all like this, so happy they were not. It seemed like every shot was blind who knows what is up ahead and as a result you find yourself in a lot of trouble. Course knowledge would be very good to have, but we had none. Most of us that thought we had a very good shot and were penalized because you have no idea what is up ahead. We have all played a lot of courses and agree this one is a joke. While the scenery is great it is not worth the aggravation. If they have a yardage book they should include it or at the very least suggest it!

They were doing major reconstruction work on the short course, so we had to skip some holes. It will be beautiful, and interesting for a short course. Look forward to playing it again.

This was the sixth of the Trail courses we played in a week and one of my least favorite. The holes include many blind shots with little surprises on the other side like a creek or a cart path to send your ball careening off line. So course knowledge is important and, of course, doesn't exist for casual visitors. Several very good shots were penalized by ignorance of the outcome. The elevation changes are sharp and creek carries can turn a four par hole on the card to a five par if you are lucky. The setting is pleasant as is expected for all of the RTJ courses, but not as spectacular as Lakes or the Judge at other locations. Cambrian Ridge would probably benefit from a caddy system for visitors like us.

Great condition, best piece of property on the tour for the routings of a golf course. Have played all of the RTJ courses and it is my favorite

Beautiful with a wonderful view of the golf course. They have a restaurant and lovely dining area that can be rented for a wonderfully reasonable price.

This course usually has room for anyone who drops by to play a round of golf. The regulation par 3 golf course is also excellent. They have a nice pro shop, locker room and restaurant/grill. They took good care of me.

LAHust

This golf course is too hard to be fun. The penalty for a wayward shot is extreme and the greens are excessively built. If you want a challenge, this will do. If you want a pleasant experience, this is not the place. Several of the RTJ courses have been redone in recent years to address their playability. Not this one.
