we always drive through after eating Thanksgiving Meal...what more way to be thankful than to drive through God's beauty..always guaranteed to see nature at its best, deer, turtles and the views..great year around
Went to the State Park and had dinner at the lodge. Spectacular view over the Tennessee River. Food was good and staff very nice. I would recommend this place if you are in the area.
Beautiful state park. Lots of gorgeous views, nice trails and if you play golf, a nice looking course.
We attended the Eagle Awareness program this weekend and had a wonderful time. I'm ashamed to say that even though we've been "locals" for nearly 15 years we had never participated in this event (30th anniversary this year!). Weather was great with cold mornings and sunny days and though there is never any guarantees we did see two mature eagles and three juveniles plus a partial view of an adult sitting in her nest. The staff was knowledgeable and friendly and informative presentations had been arranged. We stayed Friday through Sunday in one of the mountaintop chalets which was comfortably rustic with a great view. This program runs January through most of February and is well worth it. We plan to attend more of the presentations this year as "day trippers" and will certainly be yearly attendees from now on!
Close enough for the locals and worth the drive for out of towners! The view is breathtaking. Great for a family dinner or a big event/retreat! They can accommodate whatever your need is.
We have been there with another couple and their children on several occasions. A lot of nature to enjoy. A nice golf course, and Lake Guntersville one of the best bass lakes anywhere. The buffet is good too.
We stayed at the lodge on the mountain. Rooms were ok, restaurant was great, buffet or sit down dinner. Several weddings were going on the weekend we stayed. Large pool that was always clean. Parking lot supplied electrical outlets for boats. We didn't like having to go back down the mountain to launch the boat. Make sure you get a room on lakeside for a view. If you want to bring a pet you have to stay at a cabin which looked pretty nice on the outside.
We stayed in the king suite at the lodge on Labor Day weekend. The view was breathtaking and the room was perfect. Will return. Excellent facility!
We had a motorcycle event held here. There was about 60 ppl with some camping and some in the lodge. The park is beautiful and well kept. The campground is still growing their trees back from the bad storm they had come through years ago. The lodge is amazing and has gorgeous views of the lake. The deer are very friendly and visit often. We even say the bald eagles that call the park home. The park is a great place for all.
The park and lodge and views are spectacular. Hard to believe that something this nice is state-supported.
Attended Family reunion July 19 at Lake Guntersville State Park and had a wonderful time. We ate in the main lodge - buffet dinner or you can order off menu - all very reasonable and large room with some smaller rooms attached. Great for large groups and with kids. Huge decks and balconies with beautiful views of lake. The main lodge has hotel rooms and state park has cabins and cottages too. Highly recommend this area for a vacation or family gathering
We visit here a lot! We love just riding through and spotting wildlife. On our last visit we stopped and explored the cave! It is a great place to take your family for the day. The beach area is nice and the water clean. Can't wait to go again!
The scenery from the Lodge is breathtaking. I am proud to call Alabama the Beautiful my Home and very proud of our Natural Resources including the Lake Guntersville State Park.
